Newest Illegal Alien license Bill

SACRAMENTO -- Illegal immigrants who submit to extensive background checks could apply for California driver's licenses under a new bill unveiled Tuesday, but Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and others likely will oppose it as lacking adequate safeguards. Sen. Gil Cedillo, D-Los Angeles, said his legislation addresses security concerns expressed by Schwarzenegger when he pushed for the repeal of Cedillo's previous law, SB 60, which gave licenses to illegal immigrants without checking their backgrounds first.

"I think that finally we have a solution and a resolution of an ongoing issue that's confronted us for a decade," Cedillo said.

But Schwarzenegger's office said the legislation does not yet fully address his concerns.

Let's wait and see as far as judging Arnold on this. Some have suggested Arnold is playing rope-a-dope stringing the Dems along, but never intends to sign it, as he said he wouldn't. I wish he'd be more forthright on this of late but so far he's lived up to his promises, so I'll withhold judgment until the axe falls one way or the other.

In the meantime I agree it's very important Californians be heard, that we do NOT want this dangerous and unfair bill to pass.

Good point ,
we need to start a 6th party.

Call it the Minutemen Party

The republican questionaire I got the other day in the mail insulted my already feeble intelligence.
It read like a test for "see jane run" book.

Arnold has revealed himself as nothing more than a pandering turncoat sellout.

It seems to me that everyone who applied would fail the background check as they are all CRIMINALS who jumped the border and are in this country illegally.

GO HOME!!

>>Let's wait and see<<

Darling, have you the capability to see what has happened to America in the past few decades? "Wait and see" is what the party has been telling us for years and they certainly are not improving our childrens futures with this policy.

It's time to stand up and realize we have all been royally screwed. Don't expect any kisses from them.

Doing great, except where the budget & illegal aliens are concerned.

Which, of course, are the very two issues he promised to fix.

Which of course, are the largest issues facing the state, and the country for that matter.

Sen. Gil Cedillo, D-Los Angeles, said his legislation addresses security concerns...

Do you suppose ol' Gil would care to address my rewarding Mexicans for breaking the law while spitting on citizens and legal immigrants concerns?

I'm an optimist, and what I can tell you as a Californian is that things are going better with Arnold than they were with Davis. Is Arnold perfect? No. Is the state perfect? Hardly. But things are a long sight better than they were a year ago, and I have hope. If Arnold backstabs us and passes this bill, I'll be campaigning for McLintock next election.

What about the Sierra Conservancy property stealing government growing piece of socialist garbage he supports?

What about all the soviet-style land use planners he is appointing to key positions within the state?

Whats better? Yesterday on highway 101 in San Jose, the road was closed during rush hour because the pavement fell apart. It took hours to get a CalTrans crew out to start work on it. Why aren't our roads and highways being cared for? We pay enough money for it. Arnold says "buy Californian" then asks Australia to build an natural gas plant! Arnold says, 'I'm a fiscal conservative" but passes a $15 billion bond the minute he gets in office.

Why are our freeways turning into rubble? Why isn't any money being spent to keep our infrastructure in top shape, so we can prosper and be competitive with the rest of the world?

So very true , I ride off road motorcycles and I have seen public land shrink down to tiny fractions , the speed of land grabbing is picking up,
soon freedom as we know it will just be a distant memory

Schwarzenagi appointed a Sierra Club operative to head the DMV as one of his first appiontments,

I guess I'm too old to be an optimist anymore. I've seen these buggers stab us too many times to even think about trusting one of them. The craziest part is, we give then the damn knives and then want to re-elect them!

In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens.

Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.

In 2000, nearly 30 percent of federal prisoners were foreign-born. If you posted your comment as-is, it would look like ... To: GOPrincess I guess I'm too old to be an optimist anymore.
