Significant because this is a Demoncrat governor, and at least the third
democrat governor to sign a bill this year improving the CCW laws in their state (Warner or Virgina and Locke of Washington are the others).
Obviously, they have internal polling (coupled with previous election results) which shows that gun control is a big loser for them.
Too bad the Republicans at the national level don't realize this and start pushing for some improvement (or better yet, elimination) of the federal gun edicts.

Granholm is trying to run from her gun grabbing past(Marched with Million Moms in 00). I don't trust her one bit, but she's signed two non-hyped pro-2a bills. That said, this is a big one. One problem here is that criminal law and game law are in two different sections, and has caused some contradictions(and I believe game law carries weight).
This helped clear that up. I know people who have gotten CPLS strictly because of bears.
