No security or safety for young Christian girls in Egypt! (November 21, 2003)

No security or safety for young Christian girls in Egypt! Thanks to terrorist groups in Saudi Arabia and a complacent Egyptian government.

The Canadian Coptic Association has previously appealed to Egyptian journalists and writers for help regarding the recent escalating phenomena of the kidnapping and sexual assault of minor Christian girls by known organized Muslim extremist groups. The young victims are subject to continuous terror, threat and rape to force them to convert to Islam and live with a member of the group. Unfortunately, our previous complaints have fallen on deaf ears which give us the impression that Christian children have no worth or value in the eyes of the Egyptian Government. The following are the most recent cases of abduction of minor Christian girls that came to our attention.

On Oct.20th2003 Heba Samir Wahba, was abducted from her home town Samalut, Minia Governorate. She was constantly threatened by her abductor Alaa Farouk Higazy that her family would face death if she does not comply with his demands and orders. Heba’s family members are on hunger strike (one is in her late pregnancy), protesting the unwillingness of the police and the local authority to take the necessary actions to return her. 1/3 Heba’s abductor belongs to an extremist group known to authority and police called (Ein Shams). Its leaders are, Mohamed Abd El Zaher, a lawyer in Minia Governorate where Heba attended school, Sheikh Yasser from Heba’s home town Samalut, his phone # 2(086)712-669. Sheikh Ibrahim (an engineer working for the government), Sheikh Yousri and Mohamed Abdel Aziz also from Minia where Heba attended school. Sheikh Abou El Zaied from Berma village in Tanta city, tell# 2(040)308-0152. We understand that the above mentioned group is behind the disappearance of 16 Christian minors in the last eight month alone. It is financed by sources in Saudi Arabia that pays 20000.00 Egyptian pounds plus other rewards to a person who converts a Christian girl.

On Sept27th2003, Engy Edward Nagy went out and never returned home to her dad and brother in Cairo. The second day her family was told that she was staying with an old neighbor Abd El Gaber Abd El Mutalb Mohamed Kandeel, who is a Muslim extremist. The family understands that Engy was forced on the second day of her abduction to announce her conversion at a police station with the help of her abductor’s lawyer. Engy is living with her abductor illegally under a 24 hours police protection!!

On July2nd.2003, Mariam Serguious Besada was abducted by Abd Alla Alaa El Dean Abd Alla who lives in her village Abou Tsht, Qinna Governorate in Upper Egypt. She was released later but her abductors never face any charges by the police which encourage others to follow suit and make money out of assaulting young Christian girls!!

On June30th2003, Nermien Sadek was abducted by a passing car according to an eye witness from the front of her school inAlexandria. A police report was filed, but no efforts are made to return her.

On Apr.12th2003, Neveen Malak Kamel was abducted also from Samalut by a member of a terrorist group, El Gamaa El Islamia, Hasan Abu Zeid who lives in her village in Samalut, Minia.

1-According to the Egyptian Civil Law - Item # 2/44 indicates “Civil age of maturity is 21 years old”

2- In the same Law, item #1/44 states,” any sane person reaches the age of maturity and is not under a tutor is eligible to practice his/her civil rights”

3-Item # 45 of the same Law states “Minors (under 21 years of age) or mentally insane or challenged persons are not eligible to practice civil rights”

4- Item #47 of the law states the following “Those who are not eligible to practice civil rights for any reason, are subject to guardianship or tutorship according to the rules of the Law.

According to the above items of the Egyptian Law, and since all the abducted girls are between the age of 16 to 19 years old, their Islamic forced union and conversion can’t be considered legal without the approval of the guardian (family). Item # 1 of Law # 119 of the year 1952 also considers these girls as minors under the guardianship of their family. The Egyptian Law does not give minors the freedom to spend their inheritance or travel without a written permission from the guardian.

The Egyptian Constitution which is severely and willingly violated by the government and the local authorities including the police, indicates the following, - Item#64 states “the rule of Law is the foundation of governing “ - Item # 65 states” Government is subject to the Law”

International Human Rights agreements signed and adopted by the Egyptian government in 1981 “Citizen’s Protection and Safety” are totally ignored and broken.

Finally it is very ironic that the Egyptian Constitution, item #46 on Personal Freedoms includes freedom of religion. The Constitution states “Government provides to all citizens the Freedom of Dogma and freedom to practice religion”!!

perhaps we can do something here. I am willing and interested in helping, but have no ideas to offer.

The prospect of these girls lives fills me with horror and sympathy.

The first step would possibly to contact the existing Coptic-American groups to see what resources they have.

The best solution would be to get these families out of Egypt and into America.

that's a simple simplified story for kids to know islam as a religion of facts and to explain what a small side of Islam is and what it believes in and it prooves it with facts only.. use the mind that Our god gave us. you've a brain that was able to realize the whole universe, can't you see beyond that!!

>There was a young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time. When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholar or an expert who could answer his 3 questions.
>
>Finally, his parents were able to find him a Muslim scholar.
>
>
>
>Young man: Who are you and can you answer my questions?
>Scholar: I'm one of Allah's (subhana wa Ta'la) slaves and InshaAllah I will be able to answer your questions.
>
>Young man: Are you sure because a lot of experts and scholars were unable to answer my questions.
>
>Scholar: I will try my best
>
>
>Young man: I have three questions.
>
>
>
>1.Does GOD exist? If so show me His shape?
>
>2.What is takdir? (Fate)
>
>3.If shaytan (devil) is created from fire, then why will he be thrown into the hell fire in the end?
>
>
>It certainly will not hurt him at all, since shaytan (devil) and hell were both created from fire....
>
>
>
>Suddenly the scholar slapped the young mans face very hard.
>
>
>Young man : Why are you getting angry at me?
>
>
>Scholar: I am not getting angry. The slap is my answer to all three questions.
>
>Young man: I really don't understand
>
>
>Scholar: How did you feel after I slapped you?
>
>Young man: Of course I felt pain
>
>Scholar: Show me the shape of pain!
>
>Young man: I cannot
>
>Scholar: This is my first answer. All of us feel GOD's existence without being able to see His shape.
>
>Scholar: Last night did you dream that you will be slapped by me?
>
>Young man: No
>
>Scholar: Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me today?
>
>Young man: No
>
>Scholar: This is takdir (fate)
>
>Scholar: My hand that I used to slap you - what is it created from?
>
>Young man: It is created from skin
>
>Scholar: How about your face - what is it created from?
>
>Young man: Skin
>
>Scholar: How did u feel after I slapped you?
>
>Young man: Pain
>
>Scholar: Even though shaytan (devil) and hell were both created from fire, if Allah wants,
>
>InshAllah hell will become a very painful place for the shaytan.
