The elderly American gentleman arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he fumbled for his passport.
"You 'ave been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically.
The old gent admitted that he had been to France previously.
"Zen, you should know enough to 'ave your passport ready for inspection." The American said, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible. You Americans alwayz 'ave to show your passports on arrival in France!"
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained. "Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in '44, I couldn't find any Frenchmen to show it to."
who gives a crap? on the other hand, when fanatical Islam takes over that country in about ten years, let someone else bail them out.

Who cares. They will be disappointed in Bushes' re-election. They hated Reagan, and wanted him out too. So what....the French have become a joke.

I'm French and I agree. Asking foreign nationals about who they hope will win a US election has as much value as asking US citizens who they want as Mayor of Poitiers, Western France.
Yes indeed, that's the problem with this poll. What purpose is it supposed to serve ? US citizens elect their President, me and 40 millions other French citizens elect ours, and that's just the way it is.

I entirely agree with you - except for the fact France is not led by a socialist government, is not 10% Muslim, and for the fact I fail to see how it's news, either good or bad. But except that, I tend to agree.

As soldiers, probably. Losing 1.4 million French soldiers and killing about the same amount of German troops in WW1 brings people together.

No France's leader is NOT a socialist, but their trends are...so I consider it socialistic, just like a consider all things left, socialistic in today's world. And they do lean towards following in the social changes that have taken place in the Scandiavian countries (marriages between male and female down 33 % over a ten year period since homosexuals have been allowed to legally marry-the cradle to grave government nanny system combined with the loss of meaning in 'family' oriented marriage is changing the face of their culture.)
And the last report I read estimated that the French population is at approx 10 percent MUSLIM, in large part due to the immigration of Muslims from North Africa (Moracco, Algeria) I also read somewhere that this percentage is approaching reflection in their leadership positions. Altho I realize they did vote DOWN the wearing of headdress by Muslim girls in school.
Oh, correction, they forgot to ask that question.
