Richard Nixon lasted little more than a year after Pat went.

Hopefully, this good news will uplift Mrs.Reagan's spirits and make the next several days easier for her to get through.

When Clinton goes, the DNC will have to turn out the vote fraud machine to get anything near the spontaneous reaction that Reagan's passing has generated.

I think all those years of living alone with her Ronnie has left her unaware that the rest of us never stopped loving him either.

I had an Aunt and Uncle that had a marriage similar to the Reagans

In their younger days, they always joked that when the time came, they would go together

On the night of my Aunt's viewing, my Uncle passed away.

The burial was delayed a day ... but they were buried together

I wondered about that, too. She looked so bewildered when the people applauded her at the funeral home.

She must have felt so alone. I cannot imagine a worse type of situation for a husband and wife.

And did you read this:

I was frankly stunned by this girl's writing. So moving. She has an article in this week's People.......I may just have to buy it.

Could be .. but it also could be all the reporting of President Reagan

The media was not kind to him at all

She's listed as being still alive here:

I find it amazing that in this era of people being richly paid for vicious "kiss and tell" books, Jane Wyman has never said a single ill word about President Reagan (in public at least).

My wife and I have that kind of "oneness". I can't imagine life without her and don't want to.

YOu are wrong, that is a myth.
I am living proof of that fallacy!!!!!
The darkest days are yet to come for Nancy, my heart breaks for her.
After watching your beloved die before your eyes, minches at a time, for a long time, you still want them to be there, even if the mind is gone.
Maybe moreso, since you were at their side night and day, up front and personal.

final numbers was 106,000 at the library, and it would basically have been physically impossible for any more to come in the time alloted.

Having been one of the many who waited in line through most of the early morning today, that number could have been at least 30,000 higher. Time and time again, it would be more than fifteen minutes before a single bus left, with delays up to 30 minutes.

At about 2am, Ventura County Sheriff deputies came and 'secured' the memorial books that visitors signed after leaving the bus from the library, suggesting that people come back at 7am to sign them.

And alas, drunks, making themselves into a security nightmare, kept trying to hop the police lines to get into the secured area, causing further delays. In addition, buses were routed onto the 118 freeway, getting caught in the huge backups on there. Whereas a bit earlier, every bus was escorted by police through any traffic, a force reduction at about midnight cut off the help.

It wasn't until nearly four am that additional buses finally arrived, along with mutual aid officers from Los Angeles County and the Highway Patrol. Finally, by the time dawn brighten the sky, those who had arrived around midnight were boarding buses to go to the library to pay their respects.

I hate to say this but when two people that have had the relationship they had and one dies the other soon follows.

I've seen that, I think we all have. But I've also seen scenario's like this, with Alzheimer's etc involved, where on some level the spouse really KNOWS that their loved one's passing is a blessing and they end up living many more years. I'll hope the latter is Mrs. Reagan's path. She's certainly done her time loving and protecting RWR especially these last difficult years.
