I've been a little sensitive recently about "speculating" on the movements of our own military whether is it overseas or inside our own borders. Don't want to give any bad guys or their paid analysts (probably former KGB types) something to chew on, ya know. Given the overall levels of paranoia this summer I'd rather not give this a guess. Somebody was saying earlier that everytime they hear a military aircraft their first impulse is to scream:This is it!

Well, let's not feed that kind of thinking, okay? Remember that all US military aircraft are in the air to protect us....their engine sounds are not something to fear, in fact they should make our chests swell with pride. It is......... the sound of freedom. This sighting was probably an exercise or a jet jockey having fun. The closer to the ground, the more real the imagery of speed. Don't even have to be going very fast to make the ground a blur.

Just for fun, though. IF you can roughly identify on say a roadmap with direction of the flight, you might take a pencil and carry the line out in both directions and see if there are any major targets or bases along that line. Maybe see whence they came and whence they went? But let's not dwell on it, okay?

Did the book also tell you that the tax sale land in some states has a redemption period?

I am a little out of date on tax sales for Arizona, but it
was in 3 years, you could hire an attorney and go to court for a quiet title suit.

In 5 years you get a Treasurers deed.

You may have an impossible title that can never be cleared.

I sold a 40 acre listing. It went through Quiet Title and then 10 years later, some relative decided to check on it.

They got it back. Mohave County had advertised it for sale,
with the middle initial wrong (B used for E).

I know people who have bought it for 30 years and are doing well now.

But I would not buy it for using now.

Better to find an area and go thru the Court house to contact the existing owners.

Or get the tax sale list and contact the people on it. Before the Sale.

I had no way to go to the Court House last November, so didn't
pay my taxes, several letters came wanting to buy them.

Some how my sister had gone on the Internet and pulled up all
the tax bills, so there is some way that you can do it now,
it was not available to me 15 years ago, so I can't tell you
how to find them on the Internet.

What ever you do in the west, don't buy it with out title insurance and an escrow.

We had several hot shots, who were buying lots at the tax sale and selling them the next day on land contracts.

Unless you are buying a very large parcel, the books on
how to buy land from the government aren't worth the paper they are written on.

When the Gov sells land it is a trade and I promise you that you and I will never be big enough to do a deal with BLM and the other departments.

I have been licensed off and on for 40 years, in Calif and AZ and have only a little knowledge of other states.

Actually this nifty little book did cover most of that stuff, granny. Good to hear the pitfalls from somebody experienced, though! I'm looking for land in Western North Carolina and not really urgently, either. Sort of just scoping the territory. The Government does sell some rather unique properties, though. Did you know that as little as 15 years ago you could buy direct from them a complete Titan Missile Silo with 90 acres of fenced land (9 foot fences with barbed wire at the top) and the complete hardened silo and command and control bunkers, underground for about $100,000? Now it's upwards of a couple of million for those, but they're still out there. Bet they're selling, too. But, I'd be worried they'd still be on somebody's nuclear target list!

Several months ago, someone gave me an expected date of a strike and my mind converted it to the 23rd, so the 23rd is in my mind.

I have noted before they promise a date and then about 2 days later hit hard. So the 23rd is the 25th and I don't recall what was special about the 25th of June.

I know better than to mistake anything you post as a flame, granny. You're a good person and if you flame somebody they probably deserve it. BTW, some of those silos were considered ummmm "Fixer Uppers" since they were often FLOODED totally (100 feet of water in the silo) and no working electrics for the whole complex. So a hundred grand ain't that grand.....lol

Last Saturday two F-16's (I think) buzzed over the middle of our desert flying low & loud. They have done this before so I knew immediately what it was.

Sometimes there are things going on here at the air museum and we also have military bases in all directions.

I absolutely love when they do that!! I immediately know it's them and not landing passenger aircraft in the normal pattern.

I ran as fast as I could out to the backyard just in time to see them!! It's a great feeling to know they are there. I wish they would go over every day. ;-)

No problem, Ex-Soldier, your advice is right on. Yes, it always stirs my heart to see our air assets in action.

The reason I posted was that I had mentally done just what you suggested and the result put the jet on a rough heading for NYC, which is what got my pulse quickening - I'm thinking, Tuesday morning, here it comes again, and if he's on his way to NYC from somewhere southwest of here, then something very bad is happening . . . thankfully, nothing was . . . I've seen/heard many things that I refrain from posting, but this one seemed to be in the public domain, in that he was flying over highly populated areas at relatively low altitude . . .

And, by the way, thank you for your service defending our country!

Off topic here.........but do any of you know anything about Penta Water? My sister was just here visiting for the week and she swore by its benefits. She has suffered for years from fibromyalgia and claims the Penta Water has cured her. If you have comments, pro or con, FReepmail me. She is a professor at the University of Kentucky (far more educated that I) so I tend to be a bit intimidated by her knowledge and opinions...............just curious about what you guys know.

They don't do that much over Miami, but they did two days after 911. Right over my portable and then into afterburner straight up, ballistic. My kids were terrified but I heard the Top Gun theme roaring in my ears. I made them all go outside and look up. I gave them that "Sound of Freedom" line. It had an impact on those inner city kids.
