U.S. Charges Australian Linked to al-Qaida

I watched the video and I'm much more disturbed by the power line explosions than the lights in the sky. What caused the power lines to explode -- was it a mere power surge or was it sabatoge?

The lights in the sky look remarkably similar to what we routinely saw several years ago here in the Hudson Valley. Everyone was convinced that we had become a mecca for UFO's, but when the publicity got out of hand, someone blew the whistle on a local flying club, whose five members were flying in a "V" formation at night in their single engine aircraft in an effort to replicate a larger aircraft of unidentified origin. Once the hoax was uncovered, the FAA launched an investigation and the last I heard the club had disbanded and the members had moved on to crop circles. I am about 97.9% sure that what I saw on that video is exactly what I used to see here -- five single engine aircraft flying in a "V" formation at night to fool people into thinking they saw a UFO. The objects may have been unidentified, but I'll bet a Freeper Dollar that is wasn't aliens, Iranians, Iraqi's, AQ, or illegal Mexicans.

Hi TMers- just checking in. Any major horrific updates?

Cave of Darkness was supposed to start with a hit on London. So far so good. Pres. was even in Philly today.

I hope EOM and all the rest are pure nonsense...but I confess to a sense of anxiety today.

Did some more reading yesterday afternoon. Several interesting items surfaced and may be related to all the Naval Deployments:

1. There is a good case to be made for Cuba having Iranian nukes on missiles aimed at the US

2. There is also a good case to be made for AQ et al. having bioweapons produced by Cuba

3. Russia is making a point of saying that there is NO WAY any of their nuclear materials ever left their country. (Yeah, right)

4. The deployments of aircraft carriers are pretty evenly split between the Pacific and Atlantic.

5. Pres. Bush signed a directive December 17th giving Rumsfeld "commander in chief" powers over the military. (Part of continuation of government, perhaps?)

6. Russia is on high alert and "exercising".

The Hudson Valley UFO

(SNIP)...One of the most striking reports that the group gathered was from guards at the Indian Point Nuclear Plant. The UFO apparently hovered over an active nuclear reactor for some minutes coming as close to the reactor dome as thirty feet. The security supervisor even considered ordering guards to shoot it down. One guard described it as being the length of three football fields.

The object also seemed to be interested in bodies of water. One observer watched the UFO over Croton Falls Reservoir where it seemed to use a red beam to probe the surface.

The researchers knew that when investigated most UFO reports turn into reports of IFOs: Identified Flying Objects. Often they turn out to be planes, balloons, satellites, or even the planet Venus. They did find evidence that some of the reports of the "V" shape may have been a group of small planes flying out of the Stormville Airport. The pilots seemed to have been flying their planes in a formation in a deliberate attempt at a UFO hoax.

The plane hoax only cleared up a small number of reports, however. Most observers reported that the lights moved together as a solid object. Others could see the body of the UFO between the lights. None of the observers who had seen both the planes and the object thought they were the same phenomenon.

There are few good explanations for most of the Hudson Valley sightings. The only object that moves slowly through the air and hovers almost silently is a blimp. Researchers contacted all blimp operators in the area and could find no matches between the blimp schedules and the UFO reports. It was widely speculated at the time that object was a formation of ultralight planes. This seems unlikely as the UFO was nearly silent, could hover, and carried tremendously bright lights, all things ultralight aircraft are incapable of doing.(SNIP)

I believe warning the public REALLY LAGS benind the learning curve of the officials and probably behind the reality at the grass roots terrorists levels.

I agree with you. Public warning IS lacking and subsequently there are less eyes to report unusual incidents.

Those of us "in the know" can effect change here. How do we convince the Department of Homeland Security to UP the awareness?
