God Made Me White, Ronald Reagan Made Me A Conservative. (small world isn't it)Well, I just love that.
And if we instill in our children G-d first, and that nobody, and no bigotry can overcome G-d's love and promises to us, then the conservative part will follow!

Excellent and well-written. Thank you.
I have a dream... I dream that tomorrow this editorial could be printed in one of the three major newspapers in the country...

I have a dream... I dream that tomorrow this editorial could be printed in one of the three major newspapers in the country... When I read that it was such an absurd thought I laughed out loud.

In 1980 I was in college and I voted for Reagan in my first election. I lived though the Carter years while I was in high School 75-79. Now I was not politically astute back then but when the hostages were taken and nothing was done about it I knew that Carter was not up to the job to serve as Commander in Chief. I knew then as I know now that Liberals don't care about the problems that affect black Americans because at that time just as now the problems were not being solved in fact they were being magnified because of liberal policies.

WADR, God makes no one black, climate and the intensity of the sun over time does that.
Ignorance and evil makes one a racist and understanding makes us all the same.

All I can say is, me too! I wonder if marriage and children entered into the equation with the subject as it did for me.
I must admit, in 1980, I despised the Great Ronald Reagan, but as the years went on as did my life as I helped develop the weapon system that contributed to the collapse of the USSR, the MX or PeaceKeeper, I realized how great he was.
There is confusion in the press about the concept of StarWars, the ultimate missile defense system, because they say it didn't have an effect on the USSR because it was never developed. To the contrary, the USSR knew that the MX was a first strike weapon system as it was part of the concept of missile defense. The idea here is to prevent a launch of Soviet missiles in the first place. Sub based missiles can't do as well because of inherit inaccuracies and hence the increase in yield to affect a desired result which would result in excessive collateral causalities around the world thereby making it morally inconceivable to use as a first strike weapon and of course taking it out of the equation in the first place. The MX was a precision weapon like nobody has ever seen before. It is too bad that the President (GWB) and Rumsfeld decided that the MX must be dismantled. It was and would be, our ace in the hole.
God Made Me Black, George W. Bush Made Me A Conservative (Well, Sort Of) LOL
Hey, cut me some slack here! I was too young to vote for Reagan (nor was my family AT ALL fond of him either). In my first election, I cast my ballot for Michael Dukakis. Looking back, I wonder what went through my head. Although I've always voted across parties, it wasn't until 2002 that I voted in the Republican primaries for the first time and did so again this year.
