It's also good for people to have long funerals. Lets you grieve and remember and know how much people loved the person you loved. I'm glad it's part of our culture instead of having to bury the person on the day they die.

See if you can find "The Irish Tenors at Ellis Island". It was released right after 9/11, and it's absolutely heart-wrenching.

All the great old hymns...

That was the processional hymn at my church every Sunday as I grew up.

My father was also very Reagan-like. This funeral ceremony makes me miss him even more.

My father didn't live to see Reagan but I'm sure that he would have approved - and cheered. He voted FDR the first time, and thereafter never voted for a Democrat. I have him to thank for my conservative principals.

"...but I wouldn't be sure Michael doesn't break down."

Michael has the added burden of knowing just how great the parallels of evil are between then and now - and how many are too blinded to realize it. May the country come to a new understanding now through the life of President Reagan.

An heroic woman. What a symbol of friendship between the two nations her and Ronnie's personal friendship was. And thank God W. and Blair have it too.

All three sons are Gay? Was it something in the water?
I would guess that is very unusual. But to speak ill of their Father at his funeral in front of family and friends is unforgiveable.
