" Ron stepped back and put his arm on Michael to let him in."

I' m glad I saw the replay, as I wanted to see how it worked out. I had wondered if Michael had to push his way in ----but not so. As you said, Ron stepped to the side and made room for Michael while putting his arm on him in a welcoming gesture. I really was pleased to see that.

Ouch, that is the question, isn't it? Well, in tribute to our beloved Ronnie, we must believe it is the former; the rebirth of what we hold dear.

Maybe you answered this on the other thread, but how do you know so much about the funeral business?

Worked in a funeral home all during college.

Things don't change much.

C-Span is showing the two guards saluting -- most moving -- it's the changing of the guard, the first guard is leaving.

This past weekend we were at the lake with no cable or satellite so I was forced to watch ABC when I heard about our sweet President's passing. They had Barbara Walters on and she was smugly telling the anchor that (1) Ms. Thatcher would not be coming to the funeral and (2) that Nancy never liked Bush 41 and made several negative remarks about it--there was no relationship between the Reagans and Bushes. I turned it off and told my husband that we would have to leave earlier than we planned because I had to have a decent station to watch! Just reinforced why I NEVER watch the networks!

I think this could very well be the start. Do you remember the Academy Awards where the producers and directors were appalled by the true leftist and wanted people to know they supported the President and our Country after 9-11?

Maybe this is going to really open up the Hollywood community of actors/actresses that are conservative but afraid to speak out for fear they won't have work. Maybe with the passing of President Reagan a new day will dawn for some in Hollywood!

I don't think it was a slam at them. He mentioned it in the context of using their faith to get Votes. W has only responded to open questions about his faith. Michael isn't running for anything. I'm thinking he's thinking of Kerry (and others) whose favorite book in the New Testament is Job.
