There's no need to be so pessimistic!

True, this fraud and parasitism that usurps so much of our collective libido(in the form of grant $$$ ) for the acquisition of new knowledge has, coupled with greedy marketing schemes and ill-conceived intellectual property laws, put us behind the curve with respect to technological achievement, BUT! we are nowhere near the end of Human History. I think we haven't even reached the end of the prologue yet!

Not being pessimistic, just waxing poetic. By no means is this the end of man, just the end of science as a religion. -grin-
