Living Legacy (Rush Limbaugh tribute to President Reagan)
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | 6/11/04 | Rush Limbaugh

Nine months before informing us he was battling Alzheimer’s, Ronald Reagan visited Washington for what would be his political curtain call. (Speech) At a Republican fundraiser, Reagan spoke proudly of conservative policies that were denounced during his tenure — including welfare reform, free trade and getting tough on crime.

At the time, those policies were being co-opted by the Clinton administration — the same bunch that ran against “the twelve years of Reagan and Bush.” Reagan told the crowd: “It’s not flattery, but grand larceny, the intellectual theft of ideas that you and I recognize as our own.”

Reagan confidently spoke of calling the former Soviet Union what it was, an “Evil Empire." He mocked those who criticized him for rebuilding the military. He said Democrats “will never forgive us for our success,” and pointed out they were attempting to rewrite history.

“Listening to the liberals,” he said. “You’d think that the 1980s were the worst period since the Great Depression, filled with suffering and despair. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting awfully tired of the whining voices from the [Clinton] White House these days. They were claiming there was a decade of greed and neglect. Well, you and I know better than that. We were there. Although the political landscape has changed, the bold ideas of the 1980s are alive and well.”

Again, that was President Reagan, in Washington, in 1994. Indeed they are, Mr. President, because those bold ideas were right then and they’re right now. They are universal. They will be right always. They will forever remain your living legacy.

I just purchased the book "The Real Jimmy Carter," by Steven F. Jayward. Talks about him as the worst ex-president, and he directly caused a lot of the problems Reagan dealt with during his 8 years. He is still covertly causing problems today. He is a dangerous man. He hides behind the fact that he is a humanitarian. Reagan Had to deal with straightening out the very problems he caused. Reagan Is The Man!

It's nice that we have reached the time at which the liberals are having to eat their world about the '80's being so awful.

I'm so glad that President Reagan, child of God, is now in a position to be able to see it all. (Of course, he doesn't care about watching them eat crow, but it still makes me feel good knowing that he can see the love we all feel for him.)

IMHO, every major problem we have today is a result of Carter. If Carter had been a leader, he would have done anything necessary to keep the Shah of Iran in power. Had the Islamic revolution in Iran not been successful, then terrorism would not have come to the forefront as it is today. The Soviets invaded Afghanistan because they knew Carter would do nothing, had Afghanistan been left alone it is very possible that OBL would have stayed home in Saudi Arabia and never gone on his jihad. Carter forced Israel into a position of needing to make peace with its "neighbors" in return for continued aid; at the same time, Egypt's forced "peace" with Israel created the notion in the Muslim world that America was the "great satan". Finally, when the hostages were taken in Iran, the Muslim world learned that many in America (an entire political party) would do whatever the terrorists wanted. Since leaving office, Carter has followed every dictator he can find around like some giddy schoolgirl. And for all this crap he gets a Nobel Peace Prize -- what crap!

Speaking of how nasty, the liberals were to Reagan, can
anyone help me out with, an argument I had with a coworker.
She claims that Ted Kennedy, was a big supporter of Regan.
This is no joke, she isn't speaking to me anymore, because
I said "you've got to kidding". My, the liberals sure are
sensitive.

I did not know that President Reagan had an opportunity to sock it to Clinton, and so very glad that Rush reminded us of Reagan's speech.

How I often wondered if Reagan could have remained in the spotlight as the head of the Republican Party during Clinton's sordid presidency, what he would have said to counter all of the obnoxious defilement of the Oval Office by Clinton and the Office of the Presidency.

Perhaps, now Reagan did get a chance after all to speak at long last just before Clinton's book is scheduled to roll out, before all the lefty media got a chance to hype it up, before der slickmeister slithered once more in our faces, by reminding us just how glorious and truly deeply special a man of great character and sterling honor can reach out to us beyond his life as he rests peacefully in the eternal golden sunsets of heaven.

I almost expect to see Jelly Beans raining down from the heavens above.

God Bless President Reagan, President George W. Bush, Our Brave Troops, and Rush Limbaugh!

I totally agree.

Moreover, don't forget his involvement in "return" of the Panama Canal.

Jimmy Carter, traitor at large. A total outright scumbag.

<< I totally agree.

Moreover, don't forget his involvement in the "return" of the Panama Canal. >>

It's ours.

We paid for it!

We dug it!

We maintained it!

We secured it militarily!

We own it!

It's ours!

<< Jimmy Carter, traitor at large. >>

One of scores, all -- but for the occasional RINO -- posing as "Democrats" -- and/or taking the treasounous Foggy Bottom's Bramanas' Shilling.

OK, this is a bit off-topic, but it concerns Rush:
OK Freepers. We've all learned about Rush's latest challenge - his pending divorce from Marta.

Fighting all that he has to fight right now must be taking a terrible toll on him.

So, we need to mobilize and find him a soul mate to help him through this difficult time.

Therefore I propose you ALL email Rush and suggest he call up LAURA INGRAHAM and ANN COULTER, invite them to lunch, and see what happens. After all I can think of no other two conservative babes who seem to have more in common with Rush.

Then, send separate emails to both LAURA and ANN, making the same suggestion that they ought to give Rush a 'condolence' call, maybe go out to dinner with him, and - well, see if anything sparks there.

Here are their email addresses:

rush@eibnet.com

suggestions@lauraingraham.com

tom@anncoulter.org

Let's help out both Rush and these two lovely ladies - after all, think about how much enjoyment and learning we have gotten from all three of them!

So, c'mon Freepers - it will only take you 5 minutes to fire off these three emails!!

Now - GO TO IT!!!!!
