Thank you for the dose, GEM. I was beginning a meltdown. I watched the DC funeral from the office, via streaming YAHOO. Was only embarrassed when my boss came in to talk to me and I was in tears. Everyone in the office was streaming it.

And I enjoyed the Funeral West too. I lived in the area for many years, so it was fun to see the scenery again.

I was up until the wee hours that night watching the DC funeral again. I had missed the full impact of W's eulogy, so had to do that. I'm all funeraled out.

What I most enjoyed was the Reagan children eulogies. You know, they had a REALLY, REALLY long day.

I was so proud of the Bushes all week. And was really happy to see the Clintons and the Gores seated amongst all of our side. Must have taken the fun out of the event :)

Most hideous sight of the day was the Clintons nodding off during the funeral. Just more disappointment and shame. Glad it was captured for all time.

I thought Ron Jr. spoke eloquently and was surprised that Patti's was so simple. Michael's was....Michael.

Sure hope they all had a good night's sleep. It was a very stressful day.

RIP, President Reagan. You gave me hope when I had lost all hope and did not know it.

Cubby

RE: Long day for the Reagan kids--a long week, too. Patti has a really nice article in this weeks People mag--I cried when I read it (I'm not a big fan of hers, but it was a neat article).

Also, Brit Hume, who parachuted today also, said that he and his wife were so exhausted from the events of the week that they were asleep "before sunset" last night.

Yo, Cubby! I have a theory 'bout that.

They had their eyes closed while W was eulogizing Bush.

I think the forces of darkness in them simply could not stand to look through the windows of their corrupt souls to focus on all that light coming from the pulpit. Just the way those who love the light get all goosified while having to look at the clintons.

Even though the CLinton's eye's were shut I found that gesture less embarrassing then their nodding their heads to the beat of the music of the hymns....The camera moved away quickly....Did any one else catch it? My father asked if they had been nipping with Teddy before the service.....Later when they showed the closed eyes all we could do was chuckle a bit...

ALso:

DId you hear the open mike that caught someone saying "Isn't She a piece of work!"? We'll never know which 'she' the speaker was identifying , but within a couple of minutes the announcer explaining "there were open mikes all over the place, picking up bits and pieces of conversation.....RIGHT!
