Labor Leaders Say Gephardt Will Be Kerry's Running Mate
U.S. News & World Report ^ | June 21, 2004 | Washington Whispers

Is it Gephardt?

Labor leaders believe union friend Rep. Dick Gephardt has the inside track to be Sen. John Kerry 's vice president. We hear that AFL-CIO execs say it's a done deal.

I don't know what to say. I could go with "The bland leading the bland" or "The bland leading the blond."

Dull and Duller.

Precisely why I'm encouraged by this news. I'm not even convinced Gephardt could deliver Missouri, either. He was supposed to be running hard in the state next door's caucuses in January, and he finished a pathetic 4th.

Go on, John--give him a call!

This generic, milk-toast dim will last until his first debate with V.P. Cheney! Our Veep will destroy this weasel using his own political record, and his miscalculated words.

I for one can't wait!!!!!

The Democratic Party has been taken over by the Liberal Nazis (Deaniacs, et. al.). Just try getting in a word edgewise with these critters, pertaining to Party Platform and nomination of candidates. They squelch free speech, engage in mean-spirited hit-and-run tactics, and they are sarcastic to the n-th degree. Kerry is a silk stocking socialist in true form, someone who would make a good (?) social worker but a terrible elected official.

Nope, I think it's gonna be someone either African-American or Latino. It will be someone relatively unknown, rather than any of the usual suspects.

Picking "Head" Gephardt would certainly be a slap in the face to all Kerry's black supporters. They certainly deserve a spot on the ticket and to not pick a black running mate is to dis ALL blacks. Al Sharpton has been stabbed in the back and so has every loyal member of the Congressional Black Caucus. This is disgraceful!!!

I agree! Jean Francois owes it to the black community to tab Al Sharpton or Maxine Waters for the Veep slot.

This is good news for our guy! This will go down as the dullest Democratic ticket since Dukakis/Bentsten.

By the way how is Lloyd doing? I saw him on tv at the Clinton portrait unveiling and he looked like he was in a wheelchair.

Hopefully, Kerry can remove his bedtime hairnet and give a few locks to Gephhardt to glue onto the space above his eyes, so he can appeal to more than space aliens.
The Teutonic Twins, Kohn and Gephardt, sound more like they should be wearing lederhosen and fronting an oompah band for Oktoberfest.

My thought exactly.

Gephardt would make Kerry look downright charismatic.

Dickless Gephardt? LMAO! He couldn't even win Iowa after spending $10 million there!
