Female emotionalism, pride, and equal opportunity is all at work on this one. This lady is cracking under the pressure and has shed any loyality with the exception of "to her self". This will become "media" ugly.
Dan Rather reminded us during the "Regan Week", just prior to the Drudge Report's "Clinton Summer" that we needed to get back to covering the abuses.....

We wouldn't have had a prisoner abuse problem if we had never taken any.

Soros, democRats, and their willing accomplices in the mass media declared war upon President Bush.
The truth is always the first casualty of war.

Well, I'm sure the surprise "resignation" of Ms Plame's immediate superior shortly after the Joe Wilson kerfuffle blew was a coincidence too... ;)

This is, of course, assuming that this isn't a sad example of passing the buck. What I'm amazed at is how the left, and the press (OK, I know... they're the same) is making a big deal about responsibility, and how "the people in charge" should have known about what was going on... Sanchez should have known... Rumsfield should have known... President Bush should have known...
But General Karpinski? Well, she didn't know what was going on... How could she? After all, it was only her prison!
Please!!!! I read an article a while back that skewered her for NOT taking responsibility for her command. She's falling back on the "I'm just a girl" defense.

A US general .. found no evidence "of a policy or a direct order given to these soldiers to conduct what they did".
Gen Karpinski repeated that she knew nothing of the humiliation and torture...
But Gen Karpinski believes the soldiers had not taken the pictures of their own accord" Surely this is cognitive dissonance! She was in charge. Now she's lawyered up, and yet we still hamstring ourselves with political correctness of her "being a woman"--PC crap, that, as all PC is.

The lawyers are taking over our country step by step. If they have their way, we will have to have a "fair" trial for every enemy combatant before we can shoot him, even if he is in the act of shooting us.

Oh but it's sooo much more fun to scream and yell "They'er only ragheads!" Never mind that the way the prisoners at Abu Ghraib were treated is not effective in getting info, we can't be bothered but by that.

Assume for the moment that she's telling the truth, she should still be hammered..Dereliction of duty, it was her job to know.
