The investigation into an alleged plot to blow up a shopping mall in central Ohio is widening.
A federal prosecutor says a third man is under surveillance in connection with the plot, but officials have apparently stopped short of arresting him.
Authorities have named two other Columbus men they say were involved -- Somali native Nuradin Abdi and admitted al-Qaida operative Iyman Faris Abdi was recently indicted and will be in court Wednesday afternoon. Faris was already serving a prison term on charges of scouting targets for al-Qaida.
U.S. Attorney Gregory Lockhart says a terrorism task force watching the third suspect has him in a situation where "no harm will befall the citizens of Columbus."
The Columbus Dispatch reports federal officials searched the apartment of the third suspect. The paper says the man had shared the apartment with Faris.
Intriguing. Wonder if this is the equivalent of turning on the lights to watch the roaches scatter?
yep.... e-mail, cell phone, dead drops... on and on... one mistake... he'll leave the country soon if possible.
I wonder if about 50 terrorists went running for the hills when they said this?
and about 100 feds followed them....
