Much has been said here on FR about the press-ignored connections between Mohammed Atta and Saddam, and between Atta and the 9/2001 anthrax attacks.
Transcripts released yesterday of flight recordings of Atta, in the cockpit of the hijacked plane, have Atta saying the following: As reported by the AP:
Chilling radio transmissions by the Sept. 11 hijackers from the planes they commandeered were played publicly for the first time Thursday, providing a vivid and horrifying window into the events that unfolded during the worst terrorism attack in U.S. history.
"We have some planes. Just stay quiet and you'll be O.K. We are returning to the airport," a hijacker, believed to be Mohamed Atta, the alleged ringleader of the 19 hijackers, told the passengers of American Airlines Flight 11. The tape was played at the Sept. 11 commission's final public hearing, which was attended by some of the relatives of the 9/11 victims.
Note the following diction and syntax from Atta:
"We have some planes. Just stay quiet and you'll be O.K…”
Now – recall the words written in one of the anthrax letters.
”We have this anthrax”.
A curious coincidence? And recall that Atta traveled all the way to Prague for a meeting in an airport, then turned around and returned. What necessitated a face-to-face meeting? Was an object or vial passed to Atta?
Why were some of the 9/11 hijackers seeking medical treatment for rashes just before 9/11?
One Florida doctor REMEMBERS, after the fact, that his patient (a) had symptoms consistent with cutaneous anthrax and (b) was in fact one of the hijackers.
And yet – the press remains aggressively incurious, because it does not fit the political agenda of their storyline.
Less than 50-50 chance, but, who knows?
Slight flaw (which many people aren't aware of as people remember the anthrax attacks being RIGHT AFTER 9/11, when actually there was a considerable gap) is they were all dead a week before the first letters were mailed. Of course, someone could have mailed the letters for them, but it builds in a bit more distance between them and the attacks (and, incidentally, by the time the letters were mailed, where the hijackers had lived in the US was ALREADY publicly known, should someone have selected AMI as a location near where they had lived to try to make it look like they were connected.)

Exactly. The prevailing story line is that Bush "rushed to war" with Iraq, which, while evil to its own people, was not hurting US.
Unless Sadam supplied the anthrax, of course . . . I read about the Prague connection in 2001 in the German press, right after 9/11, based upon Czech intelligence reports; so I tend to give it credence. Tho everyone from neocons to the liberals say it never happened . . .
I was in the Czech Republic after 9/11, and the people were SO pro-American. They had tanks around Radio Free America while we were there. They were willing to provide military assistance.
Then, I read in the German press of the discovery of shouder-fired rockets hidden near the Prague airport; e.g. pre-positioned to shoot down a landing or taking-off aircraft. Hmmm, now where did we hear of THAT happening, not long after 9/11?
I don't think Czech intelligence was "making it up" . . . and they had Atta's travel records to prove it . . .

I would not call it "considerable". The first Florida victim was reported while we were still in the Czech Republic, and it takes at least some time to die from it.
ALL the plotters dead by then? They were planning to take TEN planes. Obviously not ALL the conspirators were dead by then! Maybe the anthrax was a back up plan to create more havoc, in the event they did not wreak enough havoc with the planes . . . just a thought . . .
The media wants to see only what they want to see. They have an agenda and it isn't necessarily just reporting the facts.
The government agencies are only going to tell the public what they want to public to know.
9-11 would have been classified as an 'accident' if only 1 plane had been involved. 4 planes made it too massive for the typical Chief Moose alert: 2 white guys in a white van.
The internet is making it much more difficult for truths to be hidden. But it also makes the flood of misinformation and hoaxes equally available.
Good point -- same speech pattern -- but, of course, according to the FBI/CIA, the perp was someone imitating a foreigner, and Atta couldn't have been in Prague because his cell phone was used here during that time.
Are the intel agencies really that stupid? (A rhetorical question.)
After an extensive search the FBI has never found a lab in the US capable of producing the fine milled anthrax sent to Capitol Hill. Ergo, it was probably rpoduced abroad. Which country hated us and was working on aerosolizing anthrax?
A physician in Florida believes he treated Atta's roommate for cutaneous anthrax?
The first anthrax was sent to the office of Atta's realtor.
Why on 9/11 did Atta go to Portland.Me. first-He's caught on a store security camera there. What do you buy for a suicide flight?
Yes, I think he may have been involved in that, too.
Atta was looking at crop dusters. What do you suppose he wanted them for?
The 9/11 commission reported that cell phone and credit card records show Atta to have been in Florida at the time of the alleged meeting in Prague.
Security is laxer at smaller airports.
That's probably what those Democratic activists were into ~ keeping up the pressure on the Commission with that "I still don't know why my husband died" stuff so they wouldn't venture into anything that might draw untoward and negative attention to people like the professional leftist Barbara Hatch Rosenberg. As we recall, she's the ol'gal who tried to sidetrack the FBI into following around a researcher for two years instead of investigating this case.
Next time they put together one of these commissions they absolutely have to find some people not already in the throes of senility, or who were so involved in the disaster they cannot be impartial examiners.
Single piece rate First Class letter mail which is not addressed to a utility, bank, credit card payment processing center, or an insurance company is handled abominably!
If the pieces were mailed in Boca Raton on Friday or Saturday evening before 9/11, they probably ended up in empty MTE (Mail Transport Equipment) which was shipped to the Philadelphia Bulk Mail Center, and from there to Trenton, and from there to a major mailer in the area.
It could have taken days for any of those letters to have surfaced in the regular mailstream and gotten cancelled.
I've explained the process enough times that by now there should not be any posters here who do not understand it.
That;s obe theory, but the security at the Boston airport was so abysmyl it had been the subject of a report extremely critical of lax security--which Kerry and Kennedy ignored. The entire airport was a corrupt Dem-Union-contractor fandango. Portland was not that much easier to get through, and the rest came through Boston without any difficulty whatsoever.
As a matter of simple logistics--it's hard enough getting all these people in the planes at the same time from two different airports, it makes no sense to make it more likely that there will be a snafu--Indeed, he almost missed the connection..

A judge investigating the 3/11 bombing in Spain found a man who provided Atta a false passport.

Connecting more dots, it came out this week that rather advanced fermenters were showing up in salvage, in Europe, from Iraq, if memory serves. And wasn't there something about a rather sophisticated ability to refine Anthrax reported by UNSCOM regarding the surprise they found in Iraq?
If the 2001 anthrax attacks were al Qaeda, why mail half a dozen letters, which sickened and killed a handful of people, when you've just killed thousands? It seems clear to me that if al Qaeda had that weapon, they would have made far better use of it. Several grams of anthrax would go a long way in the Mall of America or in Hartsfield International Airport.
Either the FBI is right, and it's a domestic nutbag/domestic anthrax source (we had our own weaponized anthrax kicking around) -- or it was a gentle warning by Saddam not to take 9/11 out on him. The only clear argument to me against the latter theory is that one week is an awfully short amount of time for Saddam to set up an anthrax attack. Unless he somehow had advance warning of 9/11.
