The mention of 150 protestors in the article is being very generous. The actual number is between 25 and 50. At best.

Oh, and they had a G8 protest here in Raleigh NC. Number of protestors... ZERO!

This is like a protection racket - give us money, so the people we bring in don't trash your city.

Pretty Insane!

Yeah, but evidently not insane enough for one councilman to go along with it.

The scary part is, the person might just get the money.

Actually after reading the article I'm very confused. Did the city consider this protest as an investment originally? Wow I don't get it, there must be more to the story.

If you check out the article you'll find out that the city gave away thousands of dollars in fee waivers to them. They might actually give them this too. Unbelievable!

I was thinking of some other words, but they are not printable. Do you suppose they told him where the sun don't shine?

Gasink had projected more than 5,000 participants during the June 8-10 events, and was hoping to cover costs by selling T-shirts and posters she and her husband had created.

Welcome the world of small businesses Kellie baby.

On the bright side you have enough T-shirts to clothe your family for the next fifty years.

This is what Dave Ramsey would call your stupid tax. You are stupid and that has to be paid for.

By the way I said you are stupid, not you were stupid for a reason. You are the kind of person that never gets any smarter as time goes by.

The city should tell the group to stand on a corner with their collection basket.

If the city hands over $2,000, Alderman Ellis Cook envisions every non-profit with a busted event following suit.

"We're not in the business of supporting losing causes," Cook said

HAHA

Seems to me that Gasink owes the city reimbursement for the "intense police presence".
