But, but, but... we were told early on that Scaught was an "avid fisherman."
Avid teller of "Fish Stories" maybe, but fisherman... I don't think so.
'Fraid he hasn't hooked anyone, save Mom, Dad and Janey to his "story."
Hypothetical question: was the Dog was an eyewitness to the crime?
Catherine Crier:
Scott called the detectives and asked them for the telephone numbers of cadaver dogs AND grief counselors
SIX HOURS AFTER HE REPORTED HER MISSING!!!!
The fishing license was BLANK and he filled in the date of December 23 and 24th!!!!
I don't believe ANYTHING Geragos offers up as an excuse or explanation. He's almost as big a liar as his client.
I just read that they may have some FORENSIC evidence yet. What they are testing is little algae known to be present in certain parts of the ocean or Bay and they test something called diatoms. They can EVEN retrieve these cells from bone marrow. The testing is either finished or in the process. This is relatively new (inside) info.
I think he asked about grief counselors during the video...but it was cut out for this jury...
CC Guest saying knuckleheads take boats out not suited for Bay all the time but he questions how a body would be hidden and dumped from it..(I believe the prosecution will have to answer that question in the jurors minds.)
I have seen diatoms used as evidence on CTV...interesting little critters.
I recall reading a case that they solved in England where the son had killed his parents and then buried them under a certain type of tree. This particular type of tree had some miscroscopic features that could found NOWHERE else in England. These trees only grew in a certain area outside of London.
When the police asked him what kind of fishing lure he used he said "silver"!!
You probably know this, but I have today turned into Court TV for the first time and had not heard a few of the things they discussed today.
Scott Peterson came home and put his clothes in the washing machine and later told police it was raining where he was fishing. The water patrol guy (that's a technical term - lol) said it was not raining.
Someone who fishes is on with Catherine Crier and he said Peterson would have a difficult time getting a pregnant body on that boat. I don't agree with that assessment at all, btw.
This is SO much more relaxing over here than all the Clinton threads. (I hope that isn't terribly insensitive of me, considering the circumstances).
I listened to that guy about the boat too and had a reaction that if knuckleheads take smaller boats out inappropriately on San Francisco Bay all the time then certainly we can believe a man in a fit of rage and fear of discovery could get a body on that boat.
My husband fishes for sturgeon, and he uses grass shrimp for bait, not lures. Now I don't know if it is possible to catch a sturgeon with a lure, but I wish a fisherman on this thread would answer that. My fisherman is at work.GRIN!
I pledged "no more Clinton" and haven't looked at the BBC video..I will not get on Clinton threads again. I switch channels when they discuss him on TV.I got on the live thread, I watched 5 min. of 60 minutes, saw the old video and that was enough.
I watched CC, and must say I was a bit shocked about the inside of the boat. It looks like a small space to put a.pregnant body.
This is the first thing I've seen that I thought was a bit iffy.
The prosecution will address this, I am sure.
I believe the Prosecution is of the opinion that he put the "missing" life jacket on her and towed her out a certain distance and then attached the weights, followed by then taking off the life jacket. Probably cutting it off, because it was never found. Believe me, where there is a will there is a way!! I'm actually quite sick of Talking Heads. Most of them are just a bunch of gasbags with little knowledge of what they are talking about. IMO, at the rate which the media is getting involved in trials, there are going to be a lot of killers set free.
I know just what you mean. I won't watch him on television anymore either but I do check in with the threads out of a sense of morbid curiousity.
I like to think I've had enough because nothing has changed with him, despite all this "8 hour/day every week counseling".
RE body disposal, boat size...Where there's a will there's a way.
CC had an interesting theory, though, don't you think? She suggested perhaps he "went fishing" more for an alibi than for fish. She seemed to think it more likely he dumped the body the previous night (hence, the 12/23 fishing license). At night, with no one there, he could perhaps load a body, cover it slightly with a tarp, and putput out to the dumping place, and splash--and no one would notice. Come back the next day, and "fish" leaving lots of alibi material--cell phone calls, receipts, etc. I don't know if that's MY theory, but I found it interesting.
