Soldiers know how to use spell check.

Soldiers know how to use spell. check.

Who needs it when you can demonstrate basic spelling?

My grandfather was in the 12th Engineers (USA) in France WWI

My father was in the US Navy WWII

I was in the USMC VN

There is ONE common thread - WE ARE AMERICANS!

ps - my grandfather won his citizenship AFTER WW-I

you are very correct in your post. I just can't fathom why the people here are livid...did they come in from the DU site and are brainwashed by Mothers of America?

Old habits die hard, I guess.

Well you didn't serve, for comparison purposes in the Army at all.

You served in the the Reserves, first of all.
AND in a REMF unit - you don't get to claim you can compare an Army Rear Echelon M.. F'er unit to a Marine combat arms unit.

Of course that type of analysis is not unlike the Marine decision to select a Hussein Loyalists General to take over in Fallujah....who called the Marines unmanly.

"A uniform makes an ugly man look good."

That's why I like to wear my uniform on Halloween. It's usually a big hit with the ladies!

I agree. As someone who has pride for soldiers in all branches, this seems petty and cheap. If someone compared any of them to the TX Air National Guard, we would have a unified voice and jump all over the liberal bstrd.

Please, let's not eat our own. Service is service. The uniforms are chosen for the soldiers. It's not like they had the good/bad taste to pick them! I never heard this childish competition in my house and I had brothers in the Navy, AF, and Army Rangers.

During the Reagan funeral, my dad (ex-Navy) said how he hated those uniforms. But the Navy guys held their own just like the rest. I saw no difference and choose not to compare.

Even though The Marines could have, they chose not to level Fallujah. The Marine Corps chose an option other than violence. They demonstrated the wisdom not to send its troops into a situation where to control the city they would have to kill thousands of civilians.

I believe the politicians chose to fall back from Fallujah - I don't think the Marines were afraid of those fighters or of civilian casualties (at least the Marines I have known). In fact, the Marines I know or am related to, were not pleased with the withdrawl.

The result is, many of the foreign fighters lived and got away, so that they can kill more of our troops in the future.
