The future of the Democratic Party

Posted on 06/24/2004 11:52:39 AM PDT by TeenageConservative

The future of the Republican Party, currently, looks grim, however, you must also think about how the Democratic Party looks. George W. Bush leadership on the Iraq War is not that good, and left-wing media is there every time you turn around. The only thing Bush has going for him is the economy, which is a big plus. So he might not get another term. But lets think about John F. Kerry winning. He could be the greatest president this nation has ever seen (highly unlikely though), but he is bad news for the Democratic Party.

Many people still believe that the Democratic Party is the party for the lower class. History has proved them wrong, but the party has marketed themselves that way. John Kerry has $1000 haircuts, $5000 bike, 4 mansions, a multi-million dollar jet and he is not even president yet, and a $350,000,000 wife, not to mention a multi-billion dollar middle name. Don't mean to attack Kerry personally, but how is this going to look on the lower class (especially when the Democratic Party likes to cause class hatred)? Kerry is also marketing himself to the upper-upper class, which has been voting more and more Democratic every year. Doesn't help that Kerry is also pretty much a Socialist (and the majority of the Democratic Party dating back the FDR and his New Deal policy) and a rich socialist doesn't look good to the public.

We have seen over the past few years, more and more minorities joining the Republican Party. Do they finally realize that they are all talk? Very few things get done when a Democrat is in office (take John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton for example) and maybe now they realize that they don't have the idea.

John F. Kerry will typecast the Democratic Party into a snobby, uptight, won't-accept-any-thing-that-isn't-Frech like attitude, and if the Republicans become more aggresive, it will return their image into a party for the people by the people.

The younger generation have often come to realize the Democratic Party as being anti-First Amendment party with it's heavy use of political correctness. Plus, the Dems have few or no outreach programs for teens. They just assume that every teen likes the life of sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll, which will assure them of future votes.

No need to worry. Just sit back and watch the Democratic Party self-destruct. (Like some of you already are)

Bloggers and Personals, dear.

The only thing Bush has going for him is the economy, which is a big plus.

If that's the only strong point you see for President Bush, you need to turn off your television and spend your entire summer on this forum.

From TeenageConservative's profile: "I base all of my politics on the Bible because it is God's Word, therefore it never changes."

Interesting.

Bush's leadership in the Iraq war "isn't that good"? He's doing what every great leader has done: taking a huge risk based on his principles, unlike Clinton, Gore, Kerry, etc., who make their decisions based on the latest Zogby poll.

I gotta ditto a lot of the criticisms of your post here.

You make a ton of assertions without any backing. Bush's leadership in Iraq is "bad"? According to Democrats, yes - according to Republicans, no. Why are you simply handing the Democrats the argument without defending it, especially when you must know that the public perception of this is largely born of rampant media bias?

The claim that minorities are moving to being Republican could use some support as well. I hope you're right, and it is possible to see that in the tea leaves (I -do- expect a few more percent of blacks voting for Bush this year than in 2000, for example), but that's a far cry from the sea change you seem to be expecting.

I agree with your overall thesis that Democrats are self-destructing... and "can I have some of what you're smoking" may be a bit harsh... but you really do need to work on your debate skills and argumentation.

Sit back??!! No thanks. Evil has to be rooted out and destroyed. We should work harder to see that the dems are tossed on the dustbin of history.

Work at the Republican headquarters. Bring your friends. Knock on doors. Pass out leaflets. Attend rallies. Write letters to the editor. Fight against voter fraud. Vote a straight Republican Ticket.

Considering that this wasn't labeled a vanity, he's been a member for a month, and the post was nothing but generalizations and uncorroborated vaguaries, I wasn't exactly inclined to be generous in my response.

Your rant has some good ideas but you need to supply credible references. Anyway, ranting sure takes some tension off. I know because I've been there and done that.

Hey, everybody, let's give this young person (if he/she is a young person) a little credit for starting to think.

As teenagers most of us were probably like, totally in the dark, and/or possessed of some pretty bizarre and wildly contradictory ideas if not totally insane.
