The ad uses MoveOn's ad showing Bush as Hitler. It doesn't depict any of the Dem's as Hitler

That's what I was thinking as I read this article and I haven't seen the ad, but I figured that Hitler was not displayed in the same way as he was in the Moveon ad.

My theory: the Bush people have no intention of airing this ad. They're just trying to sucker the media into pitching a hissy fit, and when it does (as it is doing, along with the Kerry campaign), the GWB people will point out that they were just replaying parts of the MoveOn ad. They're doing a judo move here, one that will redirect people's attention to the MoveOn ad and the over-the-top rhetoric of the Democrats and their surrogates.

How funny, the wild-eyed Democrats don't want the Bush administration to show just how wild they really are! Sorry guys, you lose on this one. Bush/Cheney are just showing the world, how low the Democrats are willing to stoop and all your wild eyed complaining will just bring more attention to the ad.

It's an issue that the ad is confusing, the images in the ad are jumbled together without sufficient context, and the images flash by too quickly to actually figure out what's being presented.

Haven't you watched any TV in the last several years? That's the way ads are done nowadays....

Thank you, FreeRepublic.

Reading the article alone would have led me to believe that President Bush is a demagogue.

The DUmmies are very confused.

They don't understand: it's five examples of wild-eyed Democrat party hate, including the Moveon.org ad.

I disagree. The ad clearly marks, with subtitles, the portions that are Moveon.org ads. Yes they are brief but there is no mistaking it. This is only ineffective if any of the Bush team had said something similar, ie. Dem leaders being compared to Stalin or Pol Pot or Castro. Problem is there aren't any.

This ad was made for those that are going to vote for W or are leaning Independents. I don't think this ad is really targeted towards actual Dems.

I watched the ad yesterday. Today, it is slightly different, it is given more context. If you haven't seen it with several frames of "words" before the title, watch it again and see if the addition helps.

I don't see how the ad is confusing at all. It is made quite clear that the Hitler images were pulled from MoveOn ads. It is not the best ad I have ever seen, but it gets the point across.

The journal(propagand)ist who wrote the article is just plain wrong.

After watching it, I don't like this ad.

Despite the explanation, some will believe that President Bush is comparing the shouting Democrats to Hitler.

I called my AP office here in Phoenix and spoke to the supervisor and told him that their story was mis-leading. I told that no one was calling anyone Hitler but showing an ad ran agaist Bush where they called Bush Hitler. But if you read just the acticle it seems that the Bush people did call them Hitler. I told him I watched the ad and that is not the case. He thanked me for my comments and that was it. I don't think just one call will make them change it but maybe if we all called it would be changed or a correction issued.

Funny that you mentioned that.... I was going to post that the Commercial Appeal (Memphis) website added this story to the top of their main page this afternoon, which they did, briefly - but now that headline is no longer there.

Haven't you watched any TV in the last several years?

The last TV show I watched was Art Linkletter's "Houseparty".

Has TV changed any since then? Has it gotten more tasteful ("I Dream of Jeannie" was too revealing), more intelligent ("Playhouse 90" always trimmed a few minutes from the plays to fit the 90-minute format), and morally uplifting (Davey and Goliath were always getting into trouble) since then?

/sarcasm
