Canadian Election--6/28 Live Thread
Various | 6/28/04 | Free Republic

Posted on 06/28/2004 2:51:25 AM PDT by conservative in nyc

The Canadian election is today. If the most recent polls are correct, the Conservative Party of Canada may win more seats in Canada's House of Commons, setting the stage for a Conservative minority government. A new day may be dawning in Canada. But the election is going to be close.

Please use this thread for any early election articles that pop-up over the course of the day, predictions and news analysis, and, of course, the actual results as they come in.

Also, please post links to Canadian elections result sites here.

As an Ontarian, this election helps explain a curious sensation I've had ever since I was a small boy, of being surrounded by idiots.

Canada's ageing population..their Health care issues..are like having aces up the sleeve for the Liberals.
The Liberal Party....the Chamelion Party suddenly becomes everything to everyone.

Just because the Conservative Party has emerged with unity and a platform..was too much for the avearge *Ostrich with its head in the sand..Canadian.

On election day.....they caved....even though they are unhappy with the Liberals.

Canada...

I wonder how long Alberta will be able to hold out as the last bastion of Canadian conservatism?
Not so much an --ism as a bastion of simple "common sense" !

Don't lose your sleep, people!!!

As of 01:14 CDT:

Lib 135
Tory 98
Bloc 54
NDP 20

The Lib-NDP coalition is at 155, the very least to form government. If it stays like this, an election is in the card in less than a year, a la Joe Clark.
