U.S. intelligence agencies are warning the federal government to be on alert for a terrorist attack around the July Fourth holiday, especially at military facilities and large gatherings, according to U.S. officials.

Officials familiar with an internal report outlining the concern said it indicates that an attack might take place from a high vantage point, although there was no further explanation.

Well, we've given over billions to the govt. for increased security and police powers - now, it's up to them to prevent an attack. If we are hit again, watch them come for more billions, saying it obviously wasn't enough. I hate to sound cynical, but they won't control the borders, they keep allowing in Arab students, Bush still calls Islam a 'religion of peace' and we have a sh*tload of 5th columnists (in and out of govt.), who'd like nothing better than to see more blood shed, on American soil. I'd say we're being set up for a fall.

Fourth of July? I certainly hope we have an air-tight security plan in place for the Boston Pops Concert on the Esplanade...

...one of the things about MA that we do miss...

FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III said July Fourth, along with the Democratic and Republican nominating conventions "are seen by terrorists as possible opportunities for attack."

Why would they attack Democrats? One wants to destroy America from within, the other group wants to destroy America from without. They're on the same team.

Osamas Revenge: THE NEXT 9/11 : What the Media and the Government Haven't Told You - Paul L Williams

I saw Williams on Fox the other day, I forgot which program, to review his book (soon to be released).

One method of attack could be a car or truck filled with explosives, the officials said.

Williams says that nuclear devices are already situated in American cities, along with many terrorist cells, not all of them identifiable as "foreigners." Their aim is to wreak mass murder, economic and social havoc, civil unrest, far worse than anything we have yet seen.

If it does happen...what would be our response? What could we do? Which country do we go after? Would we be alone, seeing that Europe would provide no help at all? I'm afraid there are more than just terrorists from the ME involved.

If we are attacked by nuclear or bio weapons Bush should automatically be dropping nukes in Afghanistan/Pakistan/Syria/Iran/North Korea/Saudi Arabia just for starters.

Why would they attack Democrats?

Sympathy. If a bunch of Democratic delegates were injured or killed in a terrorist attack, there would be a very large number of stupid people in the electorate that would decide to vote Democratic for no other reason than that they "feel sorry for all that those poor Democrats had to go through."

Remember, John Ashcroft had a slight lead on Carnahan in Missouri in 2000, until Carnahan's plane went down and he died about a week before the election. The Democratic governor kept Carnahan's name on the ballot and said he'd appoint the Widder Carnahan to fill his seat if he won. And win the dead man did, because so many people felt bad for his wife. There's no way politics could have played a role in the rise of Carnahan's popularity, because both campaigns shut down the moment he died. Except for a few TV ads Ashcroft ran the last couple of days, that said nothing more than, "I would appreciate your vote for reelection," that race ceased to exist a week before the polls opened. It was all because something "bad" happened, so everyone had to vote their feeeeeeelings.

(As we all know, two years later the useless Mrs. Carnahan was thrown out by a populace that had woken up and remembered that they needed someone in that seat that knew what they were doing.)

Sympathy.

I'd still vote for Bush. If Clinton were still president, he'd do what he always did to stop terrorist attacks - nothing. We'd all be dead or praising Allah! Voting Democrat is a death wish!

Terrorism and the threat of terrorism is a good means to tamp down any dissent of political or bureaucratic policies. I do not see a true concern or our borders and ports as well as our visa requirements would be strenghtened. When I see that happening, then the government will be showing a real concern.

It's up to the average American citizen to keep an eye peeled for anything peculiar looking at all times. As you mentioned, we have a....load of 5th columnists who'd like nothing better than to see more carnage on American soil. The govt. can't be everywhere and the border's a joke, so it's up to us. By the way, did you see on Fox news last night that the Mexican bureaucrat in charge of their side of the border thinks it should be done away with altogether? It would make life so much easier. All Mexican's problems would head north.

Which country do we go after?

How soon we forget!

That would be Iran or Korea, wouldn't it?

Yep, just for starters.

Then we should pump all of the oil out of the ME into Louisiana salt domes for our grandkids.

That would really p!ss them off.
