Amen. It's getting to the point where I don't know where the GOP ends and the Democrats begin.

Ironically, I just came across the Team America site the other day while looking at some Buchanan info. The piece you posted doesn't mention that Bay Buchanan is listed as 'Co-chairman' of the Team America PAC. It should have, as knowing that Tancredo is working closely with someone who supported a third-party candidate is relevant.

In addition, Tancredo (Team America) sent out a fundraising letter in May2004 basically calling President Bush arrogant and power-mad. I find Team America's rhetoric offensive and misleading. I hope I'm not the only Republican who does.

Of course Ronald Reagan never intended for his "Eleventh Commandment" to be arbitrarily invoked as a means of allowing liberalism to spread, unchecked, within the ranks of the GOP.

That comment is huey. Mr Regan understood our enemy just as Churchill and Washington before him. He knew how to make us whole,

To rate presidents Washington was amazing , Regan was damn good.

"Open border advocacy" usng the universal Insta-Ideologuese-to-English translator really means: "People who refuse to machine gun women and children at the border."

No one except the fringed 3rd party hacks advocate open borders.

The GOP treats conservatives like the Democratic Party treats blacks. The difference is, blacks have somewhere else to go.

Little else of GOP principles or goals can be regarded as significant in any way, as long the party remains indifferent to the invasion of the nation's borders by a flood of illegal immigrants who, as soon as they are able to do so, will vote against such things.

BUMP

  • Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit. HR 1 (Roll Call 669)
    2003-11-21
The Medicare prescription drug benefit bill marked the greatest expansion of a federal program in almost 40 years. The $400 billion bill will add trillions to the unfunded liability of Medicare and cause millions of seniors to lose their current drug coverage. The bill contained a "health savings account" provision favored by ACU (see #10), but on balance it could not be justified on conservative principles. ACU opposed it so strongly that the vote is double-weighted in this rating. It was adopted 220-215 on 21 November 2003.

    The vote was: 220-215

"Colorado Republican Congressman Tom Tancredo is in big trouble with the GOP leadership. And just what, you may be wondering, is his great sin? "Team America," a political action committee originally founded by Tancredo, worked to unseat Representative Chris Cannon, a liberal Republican from Utah, by supporting Matthew Throckmorton, his challenger in the Republican primary. "

Tancredo has enough problems with the RNC as it is, given his specific viewpoint. And I appreciate the differing opinions.

However, if he is going to actively campaign against a sitting GOP House Representative, then he's just a tad to self centered for my tastes.

I'll keep this in mind next time he whines about lack of support from the Republican Party....should be any minute now, based on his history.

Thanks for bringing us this message.

The RINOs have all but taken over the GOP on issues once never even considered to be negotiable. Controlling the borders being one of them.

It is hard to find a true conservative anymore.

Are we beginning to see some ugly posturing by some on the Right who think that Bush may not be reelected...and they want to be able to say "I told you so"? Is that a typical conservative mindset?

Most so-called "moderate republicans" are SOBs who are too lazy to mow their own yard and too cheap to pay the teenager down the street to do it.

Thank God for Tancredo and the handful of other fighting to keep the GOP standing for something right.

BTTT! Go Tom Tancredo!

They had Cannon dead to rights for soliciting campaign contributions from illegal aliens and minors.

How did he beat that rap with the voters?

As the GOP gains power, it naturally pulls more centrist elements into the big tent. Good for the party, but in the long-term the centrists tend to alienate the hard core. Eventually the party eats itself in fratricidal infighting.

The Democrats went through this from about 1978-1994 or so and eventually it will be the GOP's turn. The good news is that the swing left lasted for about 30-40 years, so we still have a while left on our run.

"Unfortunately, such rhetoric fails to deal with the fact that it is the Republican liberals who regularly undermine party unity by voting with Democrats at critical junctures. With such people constantly placing the philosophies of liberalism ahead of traditional Republican principle, the only manner in which even a facade of "unity" can be maintained is for the entire party to shift to the left. This, of course, is precisely the strategy of the liberal Republicans."

Exactly. And God forbid if conservatives fight back.
