Ah, I answered my own question. For Vermont you visit the VT Secretary of State's website, but voter lists will not be online until 2006. Meantime you need to get a paper record from the Town Clerk.

Nice tip. I'll look into it, as well as BUMP it.

Thank you. My mother died this year, and reading this I called the registration and asked that her voter registration be removed.
I think is is a wonderful effort. Think if you know anyone who died.
Also, I think it would be an excellent idea if we had a new law to impose the "death penalty" on anyone who screws intentionally with the voting "system".

Just because you request that a deceased voter be removed doesn't mean it will happen. My step-mother had to literally tear the page of her deceased first husband out of the voting book in Bayonne, NJ to stop him from voting. She dared the campaign workers to call teh police when they tried to stop her!
With the new electronic pages they have in New Jersey, that probably wouldn't work, either.

In Denver, a formal written challenge must be made to the election commission at least 60 days before the election. So that gives us until September 3.
I live outside of Denver and will check with my election board on all rules on how to do this. The voter rolls are not online.

This is an excellent suggestion. If the records aren't available on line then you can try to get them posted.

I will look into this - I think it's a big issue. Our voting process is becoming more third-world every year...

Death records --- free access at Ancestry.com
http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/vital/ssdi/main.htm
Social Security Death Index, current through the end of May 2004
Can do a search on state and/or locale, but only by one year at a time.
