The Party of Lincoln vs the Democrats' hate machine
Brookes News (Australia) ^ | 05 July 2004 | James Henry

What I find truly depressing about the Democratic Party is not its relentless partisanship; after all, partisanship is integral to politics. No, what has been eating at me is its absence of common decency, its utter rejection of civil discourse and its ruthless assault on the truth.

Instead of shared principles based on a belief in the righteousness of the American Constitution we get a ferocious assault on those values that made Americans think of them first as Americans and not Democrats or Republicans.

That most Democrats in the House and the Senate, as well as their corrupt media allies, have treated the principles upon which the Constitution rests with fascist-like contempt has been the most frightening thing about Democrats hateful behaviour. Their pathological hatred for Republicans is leading them to think of Republicans as Nazis thought of Jews: vermin that needed to be exterminated.

Reflecting on this dreadful state of affairs brought my thoughts to bear on the words of Abraham Lincoln, a man with a sharp eye for humbug and an uncanny ability to strike at the philosophical core of his opponents' arguments.

The magisterial Lincoln was at his best when he defined the soul of the Republican Party in this accurate and scathing attack on the Democrats:

"The Republicans inculcate, with whatever ability they can, that the Negro is a man, that his bondage is cruelly wrong, and that the field of his oppression ought not to be enlarged. The Democrats deny his manhood; deny, or dwarf to insignificance the wrong of his bondage; so far as possible, crush all sympathy for him, and cultivate and excite hatred and disgust against him; compliment themselves as Union-savers for doing so; and call the indefinite spreading of his bondage 'a sacred right of self-government.'"

No Democrat ever made such a speech in defense of the liberty of the Blackman.

This is what the same Democratic Party is trying to do to Republicans with the willing aid of the leftwing media bigots that dominate what Rush Limbaugh rightly calls the "partisan media". To call the so-called mainstream media shamelessly hypocritical and corrupt would be to flatter it.

The noble foundation stone of the Republican Party was liberty for all which was expressed in its anti-slavery plank. Its fervent belief that no man had a right, regardless of race or creed, to holder another human being in bondage is what made the Party the bedrock of individual liberty in the US.

Now, as we contemplate the political corruption that the Democrats have brought to the political process, academia, the media and even Hollywood, and survey the social wreckage that decades of Democratic policies have wrought we come to realise that Democratic zealots have returned to their roots much as a "dog returns to its vomit".

To these fanatical Democrats the Republicans now fill the role that the hapless "Negro" once played. They are now the target of these Democrats', fears, frustrations, pathological hatreds and their burning need to feel superior and powerful.

Having lost the power to exercise their alleged intellectual and moral superiority over blacks, they have turned to the political lynching of Republicans.

Time and time again I have heard Democrats refer to Republicans as "evil", "corrupt", "barbaric", "inhumane and inhuman," "lacking feelings", "bereft of humanity," "racist", "church burners", etc. There is nothing here but pure, unreasoning hate.

The kind of hate Nazis felt for Jews and the Ku Klux Klan for blacks. The kind of hate that instils loathing and eventually justifies violence against the group targeted for destruction. The same kind of hate that denies the targeted group its very humanity.

This vicious process of demonization is what the Republicans are really fighting against. I have no doubt they will eventually win. As I made clear, it is only the Democratic ideologues, the True Believers, who are pursuing a policy of political extermination.

Nevertheless, these totalitarians have enormous influence in the Democratic Party and their ideas dominate the media. But so long as the Republicans remember they are the Party of Lincoln and act accordingly victory will eventually be theirs.

I guess the final irony is that the vast majority of blacks have turned against the Party of emancipation and individual responsibility and now support the Party of slavery that now imposes dependency and racist quotas. The same Party that tells them they cannot succeed on their own. The Party that tells them they are not good enough to intellectually compete with whites.

This is the Party that tells them they need the Democrats as a crutch: the same Party that says it is not racist. Perhaps Jefferson Davis did get the last laugh after all. Did he not think that Blacks were so inferior to whites that they could not be trusted to look to their own affairs? That without the slave-supporting Democrats the Negro would be lost and helpless in a world he lacked the intelligence to barely comprehend.

In the end, ideas, character, honest and patriotism matter — except to the Democrats Republican-hating core of Leninist activists who, like the America-hating Michael Moore, thinks that Americans are the dumbest people on earth. Now that's what these Democrats really think of their fellow Americans.

I certainly hope the Democrats are wrong about the American people.

Happy Independence Day! :)

Excellent find.

The democrat tendency to project shows us their real nature.
To a democrat tolerance is a term that only applies to republican behaviour, along with bi-partisan, and a host of others.

This line stopped me cold. It has an element of truth.
