A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PRESIDENT BUSH (photos) 7.5.2004

The President flew from Camp David, using the Hagerstown, MD airport, to Charleston, WV, but not before he and accompanying staff and Cabinet members had to change jets. AF1 had a faulty engine and another jet had to be flown from Andrews AFB for the President and his entourage to use.

The President missed a Church service that he had planned on attending in WV, but said that he didn't miss it because of the sermon but because of a faulty engine and necessary jet change.

He spoke to an enthusiastic crowd in Charleston, where applause interrupted his speech after just about every sentence. In the pictures, notice the number of American flags - it seemed that everyone had one.

From the President's speech in Charleston, WV, on Sunday, July 4th.

The war on terror has placed demands on our military. In Afghanistan and Iraq and elsewhere, our people in uniform have been unrelenting in their performance of duty. They've been skillful and courageous. They've accepted hard missions, long deployments, and the difficulties of being separated from their homes and their families. Some have returned home wounded. Some have died. Each is mourned and missed. And each one will be honored by our country forever.

[snip]

Our immediate task in battlefronts like Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere is to capture or kill the terrorists. That's our immediate task. We made a decision, you see: We will engage these enemies in these countries and around the world so we do not have to face them here at home.

Enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya.

Ping!

Early Dose - my PC is acting up and I want to get the Dose up before I have to ask someone else to do it.

Please do not post or re-post any pictures until I have finished putting up the pictures I have gathered.

Thank you, in advance.

FIRST, nepdap! And welcome. I don't remember seeing your name on the Dose before.

Exiting AF1 at Hagerstown after engine problems discovered. Notice the engine cover is up? That's the troublesome engine. They had to fly in another AF1, causing Pres. Bush to miss Church service in Charleston, WV.

I thought so, too, Bahbah.

If more pictures show up later, I'll post them when I get home. I have to work today.

Here are a set of Veep Cheney pictures I found and thought it would be fun to post. He's been a busy Vice President, campaigning for the Bush-Cheney 04 election team!

Vice President Dick Cheney waves to supporters in Lisbon, Ohio, from the back seat of a 1937 Lincoln Willoby, with his granddaughter, Kate, and his wife, Lynne Saturday, July 3, 2004. The car was provided by Dave Johnson, chairman of the Columbiana County Bush Election Committee.

Vice President Dick Cheney answers a reporters question on a bus after speaking to more than 1,000 people in the banquet hall of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church Saturday, July 3, 2004 in Parma, Ohio. Cheney began a bus tour Saturday that will take him through Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Vice President Dick Cheney speaks at the National D-Day Museum in New Orleans, Thursday, July 1, 2004. Cheney delivered a strong defense of the Bush administration's policy in Iraq, repeating his assertion of ties between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida and warning that the war on terror will continue into the forseeable future.

Re the photos of the firefighters shaking hands with President Bush: isn't it interesting how everyone who is repsonsible for protecting us -- firemen, policemen, the military, etc. -- all adore him? They know. They understand.

Thank you for the early dose. I'll have to try to go back and catch up on some previous doses as we were out of town on a long summer trip which, incidentally, included some time in the beautiful state of West Virginia.

The pics of the Veep are neat & he's looking pretty fit in them.

Did anyone watch ABC last night? George and Laura were on there, on the 4th of July special thing. I swear I have seen Laura wear that dress before, so I thought the special wasn't new. But I looked it up on my T.V and it said it's new from 2004! Is it old or new from last night?
