You are not suppose to trap it to make it a dead tiger to begin with.
Well, yes.
But according to the article he was convicted of eating it, not trapping it.
I bet it tasted something like spotted owl or California condor. I wonder what wine goes well with tiger?...did they saute it with fava beans?
Sorry but I am a conservative who is against abuse and/or torture of animals. IE leaving a rare tiger in a trap to die slowly then eating it.
It is not something republicans here should joke about. There is a middle ground on animal rights and on the enviroment.

What the two worthy oriental gentlemen were up to is self-medicating with a standard Chinese Medical potion. And you can bet the bastards were planning on selling the bones.
This Chinee Medical thing is why there are no tigers to speak of anyway, and few rhinos, (although they seem to have that under better control. Many of these nostrums are reputed to have amazing aphrodisiacal effects. As if the planet needs more Chinese.

I do not consider myself an angel for being humane.
I think that should be standard for all people, not just some special quality.
and frankly do not care why they did it.
Tastes like chicken, albeit a bit gamey. But fine for cat eaters.
