The reccomended service interval might be (guessing) 6-18 months or so, but they should be "good" for many years, maybe 20 or more, depending mainly on how batteries are stored, or if they can be installed just before arming them, etc.

I too believe Osama is dead & has been for some time. I have read that suitcase nukes, if there is such a thing, have an expiration date, kind of like milk. You can't just put one in the closet like luggage for several years & then expect it to work.
