Actually I don't thinnk these guys actually lie in that they believe their words to be true For a liberal truth is what changes. Telling a lie is saying something that a liberal deems inappropriate, or saying something while not a liberal.

This is a thread that works as it should. Someone from the other side posts a challenge and the flamers don't immediately hop out of the woodwork to prove that conservatives can't think but are, instead just like the liberals except for using a different set of epithets and slogans. The lady is written to as if a sincere soul who needs enlightenment. I wish all could be dealt with that way, by engaging them and not slinging mud.

He PERSONALLY doesn't want it

Remember, you have to parse this stuff. He PERSONALLY doesn't want to get aborted. As for other folks, well, we all have a right to choose.

However, I do understand his point that he cannot make it illegal because he doesn't like it. That would be unconstitutional and totally against 'American' values. I hope everyone can understand that.

“Since Bork, Republican presidents have put three justices on the court. Two of the three gaze upon a document that says absolutely nothing about abortion or sodomy and discern a "constitutional" right to both. (But try as they might, they still haven't been able to discern a woman's constitutional right to defend herself from rapists by carrying a pistol in her purse.)”

Life begins where it begins, at that's at conception

To avoid catching ourselves in contradictions unawares let us stipulate that A human life begins at conception. Life has had no beginnings since "And God said...". The ovum is alive as is the sperm but separately they do not constitute a human being. At conception, when the blueprint is united and the construction begins, there is a human being . At birth there is no change inside that human, he merely goes outside.

I don't think that people understand what he is saying.

Well thank you so much Lulu21 for signing up and offering to explain what he can't get across to us.
Hang around a while...I'm sure you can straighten out some of his other confusing flip-flops for us.

Thats just what we need.

The Catholic church was very helpful to Kerry when he desired to make bastards of his children.

WRONG! An annulment does NOT affect the legitimacy of children from a lawful marriage.

That all results from a misapprehension of the nature of an annulment. The Church does not create any new situation by the procedure but rather recognizes that a marriage was invalid from tthe start,i.e. there was no marriage. Granted, the same bishops who brought us the homosexual child abuse scandal have been "recognizing" these annulments at a breakneck case, but misuse of the procedure does not change the nature of its actuality.

He obviously KNOWS that abortion is wrong

but in his worldview there is no right and wrong anyway. Reality is a mental construct and morality is anything one says it is. For now.

Legislating his Catholic religion would mean outlawing the eating of meat on Fridays.

pst: I think they dropped that, but man we used to get some good fish sticks at school every friday because of it.

The Catholic Church also believes that killing 3rd grade students is immoral. How would Kerry's statement look with that change?

There is something called freedom of conscience in the Catholic Church. I oppose killing 3rd grade students, personally. I don't like killing 3rd grade students. I believe life begins at conception. But I don't take my Catholic beliefs, my article of faith, and legislate it on a Protestant, on a Jew, or an atheist who doesn't share it. We have separation of church and state in the United States of America."

The premise of your argument is that people who oppose abortion only do so on religious grounds. That premise is incorrect.

You'll find plenty of people out there (if you will take the time to look) that are pro-life, but not particularly religious at all. Why? Because they believe (like Kerry) that the fetus is alive, and they believe abortion ends a life.

Kerry's statement that life begins at conception isn't a religious statement. It is a scientific one.

Believe it or not, it hasn't changed all that much. As Catholics, we're still supposed to abstain from meat on Fridays OR (and here's the new option) perform some other act of pennance on any given Friday.

If you want to know what Kerry supports, wait until his next statement.
If it's contradictory to his previous statement, that's what he believes.
At least, he believs it until his next statement.

Kerry is a liar, atraitor, and a terrorist appeasing sucktard.
And he has said flat out that he won't do anything about terrorism.
"But, he's said he'll fight terrorism!" you'll say.
I laugh at your infantile faith in a knownpathological liar such as Kerry.
The only 'terrorism' he's interested in 'fighting' is our freedoms which he sees as a threat to his policies.

Kerry's view: "I am for killing babies after I am for conception."
