If your story is "poor boy makes good," your message can't possibly be "this is a two-part nation where poor boys are prevented from making good."

So simple, and so obvious, and yet so beyond the comprehension of the voters in the democrat party base.

Someone from YALE wrote this? I'm surprised!

You'll have a better grasp by learning profession rather than location in academia. Folks in hard sciences are much more likely to be on the right. Folks in the liberal arts and social sciences are more likely to be on the dark side.

Newt Gingrich DESTROYED Edwards the other day. When Edwards was arguing that lawsuit when he was talking for a fetus and telling the jury what the "in-trouble" fetus was telling him, Newt said that if that was the case, Edwards MUST be against partial birth abortion!!! Newtie can still show his brain when he wants to!

"Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina seems like a decent and likable man..." [L.A. Times]

John Edwards is a baby killer, like his buddy who believes that life starts at conception but that its still okay to vote in favor of abortion, partial birth abortion, and killing a baby that has just survived the first attempt at abortion. Edwards has also voted in favor of all of these, just like Kerry; does he also believe that life begins at conception? I'm sure Russert or Brokaw is rushing out to ask him right now!

IIRC, someone wrote or said that Russett asked him, "does he also believe that life begins at conception?", but he weaseled out of giving an answer.

Quite probably the dumbest thing ever uttered by a politician.  Not only the fact that he's torched daily for taking both sides of every issue, but there's such a well defined middle ground here!  ("I don't know when life begins and I don't feel comfortable dictating other people's lives based on that ill defined belief")  We all know where you stand, John.  Just own up to it!

That statement makes even so called "pro choice" Catholics (no such thing) blood run cold.  It can mean nothing but I support the killing of babies.

The late Carl Sagan must have been the exception who proved the rule.

I didn't say it was foolproof, it was about probability, like stereotyping.
