No, I agree that this is a truly horrible crime, and that no punishment would be too severe for the person who committed it. I'm just saying that you can't have policy-by-anecdote. If I were to form my judgements about heterosexuality based on the vast number of women that are raped and assaulted by men, I'd be in the same position as people who want to ban homosexuality when a gay guy molests a kid.
And, by the way, I put no stock in "statistics" kept by organizations whose sole purpose in life is to end homosexuality. To say they present their stats in a biased manner is putting it lightly.

I agree with a prior post. Molestation of children, ie., anyone under the age of 12, should be a capital offense with no less than life imprisonment (I don't rule out death penalty), without parole.
Now, for sure the question will be, "Why 12?" Because some states allow 13 year olds to marry. But, rape should STILL be a capital offense and punished under typical sentences for rape.

I have been friends with the Grandfather of this poor boy for over 30 years. He, and his wife are totally broken up by this, as is the boy's father. I know some more details, but, in the hope that this will end up going to trial, keep them to myself.

(1). The media doesn't seem to like naming homosexual pervert 'culprits' when they can avoid it.
(2). If a father rapes his three year old daughter he's a sexual pervert who is given a different title by the shrinks. But just like the homosexual pervert who raped this little boy, they are both dangerous sexual deviants who need to be locked up, (or dropped off on the Galapagos Islands in a nest of Comodo Dragons while wearing porkchop suits).
