Radio shock-jock, Howard Stern, the self-described "King of All Media" has joined the ranks of
other AARP membership eligible celebrities in their crusade to defeat President Bush.
In his hey-day he was a paragon of the cutting edge now he sits in the easy chair of conformity,
taking his place among the Coalition of the Irrelevant. Yearning to be hip again, he has performed
the ultimate in uncool, the political equivalent of putting his baseball cap on backward, and imagining
he is a rebel once more.
I must admit, there was a point in my life when I listened to Stern religiously. I purchased his "Underpants and Negligee" video,
actually went out to Nassau Coliseum to catch his "U.S. Open Sores" tennis match.

I heard Howard this morning talking to Michael Moore. It was like listening to a gay wedding- they're in love.

Sad, the poor old "rebel" has joined the herd. I guess it's much safer that way and when you get old and way past your prime you just look for the easy way. Howard just wants to be accepted by his peers.
I used to listen to Stern everyday here in cleveland. He used to be one of the funniest (and raunchy) guys around. His show had deteriorated into a bad Michael Moore bit. Actually, he started losing it after his divorce 3 years ago.

I used to listen to Howard every day... I stopped around the time Jackie got fired, Billy West left without a trace, and Howard left his wife.
But now with this sucking Democrat ass... I actively dislike him for the first time. A HUGE miscalculation by a formerly sharp individual, ignorant of his listening demographic. You grow up with your audience, not cast them aside to pretend you're 20-something when you're in your 50's. It's only gonna get more pathetic every day, Howard!
When Hank-the-angry,-drunken-dwarf passed on so did 'Pinnochio'. Howie is now a frustrated, old re-tred of non-conformity. Cause of death?... no fresh, new material.
Stern jumped the shark before he ever became popular.
I noticed the same thing. It used to be sort of funny that here was this average family guy who had this alter-ego that went wild and vented it all on the radio before going home to his wife and kids. Now, he's just another stupid celebrity telling us all how we should live.

I was (past tense emphasized) a huge Stern fan from 1986 when he was first syndicated in Philly until earlier this year in the wake of the Janet Jackson incident. Since Howard started bashing Bush over the FCC crap earlier this year, I've stopped listening. I'll probably check out the show briefly after the election if Bush wins to hear the sour grapes, but otherwise Howard: you lost a fan. Permanently.

Who was the guy who did the voice of "Al Pacino's baby" and a great Gene Simmons impression? He was really funny, but went away never to return.

Craig Gass. I would guess he still does the show from time to time. He also does impressions of Sam Kinison and Adam Sandler.
But since I no longer listen to that jerk in NYC, I don't even want to waste my time trying to find a way to hear a very few funny moments over the lies that jerk spreads.
Stern is counterfeit. A couple of years ago when he would have strippers, porn stars, etc he obviously kept me interested.
After a year of that schtick, it got tiresome.
Now, with his illogical hate for W, I can't listen to him.

Gass. Thanks. I catch about 30 minutes on the way to work, and haven't heard him since he appeared with the real Gene Simmons, and quizzed Gene on KISS trivia. That was hilarious, especially using his Simmons voice and telling Gene he was wrong about so much.
Hmmm, none of which really had anything to do with Howard.
I stopped listening regularly since Howard turned into a Kerry commercial.
