When Kean opened the press conference by asking me how I felt on 911, it wasn't a promising start.
I felt like crap, Tom. Thanks for asking.

In the wake of the Bergler revelations - and Jamie Gorelick's memo which essentially set the stage for 911- one has to wonder what kind of toilet paper this report will be
My guess is it will rival the Warren Report
The heroes of 911 deserved better

one has to wonder what kind of toilet paper this report will be Look at this and you will know:
But the spokesman for the Sept. 11 commission, Al Felzenberg, told The Hill that the panel allowed W.W. Norton to print 500,000 soft-cover copies, which will sell for $10 apiece. Norton bears all of the financial risk, and neither members of the Sept. 11 panel nor the commission will receive royalties.
The panel picked Norton because it had the ability to release the book quickly and the panel liked the aesthetics and durability of the paper. The GPO will release the report and post it on the Internet.
9-11 panel to go on tour

Lee Hamilton damn near broke his arm slapping Kean on the back for doing such a bang up job heading up the commission.
He said Kean would be the first person he would induct into a Public Servants Hall of Fame if he started one. :-\

Hamilton is telling us that the west has to address our lack of communication with Islam.
We talked to them, you effing jackass. They said, "Convert to Islam or die, pigs!"
I guess Lee's a little hard of hearing.

Isn't this notion pretty much what they're saying was the failure of the intel agencies? Too much central power, butt kissing, not sharing of info...

If I remember correctly, Warren set it up so that the entire facts would only be releases 75 years(?) after the event? I believe this is correct: I was a kid, but I remember my father's rage over this ruling.

Hamilton is saying that congressional oversight committees need more power. Why, so that more national security information can be leaked to the news media?
