Kerry just flubbed the opening pitch at the Yanks-Sox game
ESPN | 7/25/04 | me

Kerry just 'threw' out the opening pitch at the Boston-Yankees game. Just saw Kerry pitch a really weak opening pitch, well short of the plate, bouncing under the catcher. What a poser!

"The pitching matchups in Boston are Jon Lieber (7-6) against Curt Schilling (12-4) tonight, Tanyon Sturtze (3-2) against Bronson Arroyo (3-7) tomorrow afternoon, and José Contreras (8-3) against Derek Lowe (8-9) on Sunday night, when the Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, who sometimes wears a Red Sox cap on the campaign trail, will be on display for the New England vote."

I know. As soon as I heard that the media spun this as Kerry's surprise appearance, I hunted for and found the Times article to post, so that people would know it was a fraud. I even sent the link to Drudge with an explanation, to no avail.

Great Video - love the added "right wing rag" comment at the end.

Gotta cover that A$$ somehow.

Too Bad the Sox won.

And Kerry's no longer sitting next to his wife, he has moved to the row behind her.

He was wearing his nantucket khakis and a pressed blue dress shirt.

That is too funny. The first time my husband went to Nantucket to visit his sister, he came back and told me that he was never going to buy another pair of khakis, or docksider shoes. He said it was like a uniform there, with a button down collar blue shirt, with the sleeves rolled up. On a warm day (which wasn't often)he said that they wore khaki shorts.

At Fenway Park, supporters distributed signs reading, "Sox Fans for Kerry."

I didn't see an explanation of Fenway's signs and banners rule on the Red Sox website. I know that some ballparks prohibit political banners at games.

No wonder the Catcher is running from him...

In Little League he definately is picking daisies in Right Field.

Oh, please. *I* played right field in little league and believe me, *I* could throw better than that. (And I bit the big one as a baseball player.) Unless the league has a "must play" rule, he's riding the bench.

Forget the Dukakis moment, this is Gotterdammerung!!!

I could pitch better than that. Btw boys and girls, his ass isn't fat, he's wearing body armor below the waist. Compare his bizarre looking Dockers (yeah like he'd wear Dockers), and his cute little bike shorts. If you look closely at his chest as he heaves the ball into the dirt, you can see the outline of the vest...which of course is entirely appropriate.

Theresa looked like she was ready for a stiff brandy. This has got to be a joke. The Dems are really going to give this buffoon the nomination? I smell a crusty black pantsuit lurking in the shadows.

Thanks for the ping, this thread is a riot :-D
