Good Morning America on Monday repeated White House talking points in regard to the booing of Michelle Obama at a NASCAR event on Sunday. News reader Josh Elliott played a clip of the booing and then parroted, "The White House says it was a chaotic event. It was not clear, perhaps, what the boos were specifically for." The Today show didn't cover the event at all. On the Early Show, Jeff Glor linked, "Some people booed [Michelle Obama and Jill Biden] when they showed up last night. They were on hand to honor military troops and their families." So, is...

VideoBoos for first lady Michelle Obama were heard amid the roar of engines before the start of the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The boos could be heard as Obama and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, were saying, "Gentlemen, start your engines" to begin the race Sunday, the South Florida Sun Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale reported. Obama and Biden, grand marshals for the race, were invited to NASCAR's final event of the season to bring awareness to their Joining Forces initiative, which supports military families. The women had addressed the drivers at a meeting before presiding over...

Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore plans to visit Occupy Oakland's re-established tent city today, according to his blog. At the end of an Thursday blog post entitled "Life Among the 1%," Moore writes "P.S. I will go to Oakland tomorrow afternoon to stand with Occupy Oakland against the out-of-control police." Moore is among a growing list of celebrities and organizations critical of the city's actions and Mayor Jean Quan's role in evicting protesters three days ago, when police moved in using tear gas and other devices. Injuries sustained by Iraq veteran Scott Olsen in the melee have sparked criticism from many...

Anti-Zionists at Brandeis have taken their turn at trying to silence free speech, one year after California students silenced Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren. This time, Kadima Knesset Member Avi Dichter was their target and was called a “war criminal.” Members of Brandeis University’s Students for Justice in Palestine (BSJP) boisterously halted a university panel discussion of six visiting members of the Israeli Knesset Monday evening, shouting for the arrest of “war criminals." Security personnel peacefully escorted them out of the hall. Approximately a dozen students accused Dichter, former head of the Israel Security Agency, of torture and being responsible for...

Whatever it was, pop star Justin Bieber was loudly booed at Wednesday night’s Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.

A video making the rounds on YouTube shows the footage from the game, and the commentators can be heard joking about the loud Bronx cheer. The crowd erupted as when the singer was shown wearing pink glasses on the overhead scoreboard.

He brags often and loudly about being a son of Pennsylvania. But Joe Biden’s Scranton yarns didn’t protect him from a typical Philly welcome. A Washington Post sports writer notes that Phillies fans booed Biden during Sunday’s baseball game. And a reader e-mailed me last night: My son (26, a good Republican) was at the Philadelphia Phillies play off game last night, 10/16/2010, in Philadelphia. He told me the following: Joe Biden was there and when his image appeared on the screen, a smattering of clapping started but it was then replaced with booing that proceeded to get louder and...

Sarah Palin made it to the Dancing With the Stars set Monday night after much speculation that she was going to come last week, but it’s unclear if it was a warm welcome or not. When last week’s winner, Jennifer Grey and her partner were getting their scores, audible booing was heard. Co-host Brooke Burke said, “There’s booing in the ballroom. We don’t know why.” Grey then asked, “Why is there booing?” The camera quickly cut to co-host Tom Bergeron, who was sitting next to Sarah Palin, sporting a stunned look on her face and shaking her head.

On Tuesday's American Morning, CNN's Jeanne Moos picked up on the viral video of Boy Scouts booing President Obama's taped message to the recent National Jamboree, but got in a light jab at the youth for their behavior: "Booing would seem to go against some of the 12 tenets of Boy Scout Law. A Boy Scout is 'trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind'- wait a minute, 'courteous and kind'?" The correspondent, known for her light reports for the network, concluded the 6 am Eastern hour with "unique take" on the video, as anchor John Roberts put it. Moos noted that...

The National Boy Scout Jamboree ended, Wednesday, and President Obama broke a quasi-tradition by declining to address the Scouts. The quadrennial event has been held at Fort A.P. Hill near Washington D.C. since 1981. This year's event celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the organization. In lieu of an appearance at the 10-day-long Jamboree, Obama appeared on the View, attended several Democrat fundraisers and visited Detroit. He did send a short videotaped message which reportedly was shown in a mix of several other presentations. When the president appeared he was roundly booed by the 35,000 Scouts, one man who was there...

Film critic Roger Ebert is never shy with his opinions, be they about movies or otherwise. But after criticizing five California teens who chose to wear clothing bearing the American flag to their high school on Cinco de Mayo, Ebert has faced a particularly angry backlash. On his Twitter account, Ebert, whose battle with thyroid cancer has disfigured his appearance and taken his voice, wrote the following: @ebertchicago Kids who wear American Flag T-shirts on 5 May should have to share a lunchroom table with those who wear a hammer and sickle on 4 July. Ebert's words set off a...

Gay rights protesters interrupted President Barack Obama's speech at a fundraiser for California Sen. Barbara Boxer (D) Monday night in Los Angeles. Activists from a group called GetEQUAL began shouting at Obama while he was speaking at the podium. They expressed frustration over the slow progress of repealing the ban on openly gay people serving in the military. The protests brought the speech to a halt, and the protesters did not lower their voices after others in the crowd urged them to end their shouting. "What about 'Don't ask, don't tell?'" one protester shouted, according to a White House pool...

Boos For Obama During Phillies-National 1st Pitch President Makes Terrible Delivery On The Mound WASHINGTON (CBS) ― In front of thousands of fans, President Barack Obama strolled to the pitcher's mound and tossed a baseball to Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, officially launching the team's baseball season. As he came out and greeted the players, a few boos could be heard coming from fans. The president didn't show any obvious reaction and made his way to the mound. The setting -- freshly cut grass, a brilliant sun and clear skies -- was a picture-postcard quality introduction to a new...

For those of you that don’t know, Ryan Sorba is the pompous genius who decided to wreck his big debut at CPAC by getting himself booed off stage. Watch the video below: ... What a likeable guy. “Bring it, I love it, I love it!” It’s pretty ironic that this guy who likes to show off his toughness is making a career out of attacking homosexuals. He even said to gay Republican Alex Knepper (who, in all fairness, didn’t exactly confront him politely—only click the link if you are ready for some crude remarks) that he’d fight him if his...

Paul's victory renders a straw poll that was already lightly contested among the likely 2012 GOP hopefuls all but irrelevant as the 74-year-old Texan is unlikely to be a serious contender for his party's nomination. CPAC organizers were plainly embarrassed by the results, which could reduce the perceived impact of a contest that was once thought to offer a window into which White House hopefuls were favored by movement conservatives. A spokesman for the conference rushed over to reporters following the announcement to make sure they had heard the unmistakable boos when the screen first showed Paul had won the...

UPDATE: Gov. David Paterson was loudly booed this afternoon when he was introduced to drop the ceremonial first puck at the outdoor hockey game between the Syracuse Crunch and the Binghamton Senators. The governor, who earlier announced his candidacy for election to a full term, took to the ice at the outdoor rink assembled at the New York State Fairgrounds in Geddes around 1:25 p.m. The game was supposed to start at 1. Thousands in the fairgrounds grandstand booed so loudly that the governor's words were indistinguishable over the public address system set up for the first outdoor American Hockey...

"While I was flipping through the autobiography, a woman approached the booth. Catherine Sumner, it turned out, was part of GOProud, a group of openly gay Republicans and conservatives that for the first time is taking part in CPAC. “Is this your flyer?” Sumner demanded, waving the white and green pamphlet. Thus launched a debate about gays in the military that pretty much ended when the booth attendee told her that homosexuality is a sin and she’s going to hell. “It’s insulting,” Sumner, 31, who edits a military magazine, said turning away. “Across the board the reaction to GOProud’s presence...

Ryan Sorba, from the Young Americans for Freedom organization’s California chapter, was booed off the stage tonight at CPAC, for deriding CPAC’s choice to have GOProud attend CPAC, even going so far as to say he “condemns CPAC”. It’s the dark side of the media sensation book tour: the disappointed fans who, in the age of YouTube and blog comments, have louder voices than ever. Liberal blogger Kevin K. at Rumproast has video and angry comments from Sarah Palin fans. One angry comment: Went to the book signing in Noblesville, IN. Waited three hours in the cold to get a wristband to reserve my spot at the book signing tonight. We were told she would sign book for the first 1000 people. Not so. The event ended promptly at 9:00pm, though there were still at least 150 people...

Kanye West rushes the stage while Taylor Swift was thanking people for her award for “Best Female Video”. He says “I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos ever.” The audience started booing Kanye. Boo! That has got to be one of the most disrespectful acts I have ever seen on live TV. What a disgrace Kanye. Boo! Boo! Boo! Although: I bet Kanye West does the Single Ladies dance at home and couldn’t stand the idea that Beyonce lost. Watch the video by clicking above link.

Politics: The senator who called the president a liar and never apologized may have worn out his welcome in his home state. Harry Reid may be riding the liberal agenda into political oblivion. In 2004, Republicans defeated Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle largely on the theme that he neglected his home state in favor of national party interests. The GOP is hoping that in 2010 lightning will strike a second time, and Nevada polls indicate it may be more than wishful thinking. In 1998, Reid beat John Ensign by a hair-thin 428 votes. Ensign would go on to win Nevada's other...

TED KOPPEL (ABC host): When the president talked about the bankruptcy of Social Security, there were clearly some Democrats on the floor who thought that that was taking it too far. Madonna Booed During Romanian Concert Over Gypsy Remark August 28, 2009 7:13 a.m. EST Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer Bucharest, Romania (CNS) - Madonna's stance on equality was not warmly received in Romania. The pop superstar was booed during a concert after she mentioned discrimination of gypsies and homosexuals in the country. She told the "Sticky and Sweet" concert crowd in Bucharest, "I've never been to Romania before and I am happy to be here." "But I found out that there is a lot of discrimination against gypsies in Eastern Europe and that makes me very sad,...

BUCHAREST, Romania - At first, fans politely applauded the Roma performers sharing a stage with Madonna. Then the pop star condemned widespread discrimination against Roma, or Gypsies — and the cheers gave way to jeers. The sharp mood change that swept the crowd of 60,000, who had packed a park for Wednesday night's concert, underscores how prejudice against Gypsies remains deeply entrenched across Eastern Europe. Despite long-standing efforts to stamp out rampant bias, human rights advocates say Roma probably suffer more humiliation and endure more discrimination than any other people group on the continent. Sometimes, it can be deadly: In...

Does Barack Obama, the duly elected president of the United States, respect the Constitution? For many of Obama's critics, the answer is a resounding "No!" What evidence do the holders of this opinion put forth to defend it? Some argue the president has not provided a valid birth certificate. Others believe that he is overstepping the framers' intent by attempting to set up a government-funded health care plan. For many more, it's just a nagging suspicion born of cable television punditry and common sense. Witness footage from earlier Tuesday when Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Obama's former presidential rival, addressed a...

One audience member asked the former Presidential contender if President Obama didn't realize that some of the changes he's calling for goes against the Constitution. Sen. McCain responded that he's sure the president respects the Constitution. Some town hall attendees booed the senator's response. McCain added tried to hush the boos, reminding the room that the president of the United States is owed respect. "I'm sure that he respects the Constitution of the United States. I really do. I'm absolutely convinced of it," Sen. McCain said.

The Valley focused on health care reform as Sen. John McCain and two fellow Republican members of Congress held town hall meetings Tuesday. Hundreds of seniors packed the Grace Bible Church in Sun City, with dozens of others turned away at the door and dozens others watching the town hall in an overflow room. McCain stated his case at the start. "We want affordable and available health care for all Americans. What we cannot -- and must not -- do is the, quote, public option, which really is the government option," McCain told the crowd. Plans under discussion do not...

Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) fired back Tuesday at a raucous town hall audience that booed and jeered him for more than an hour. Specter immediately tried to temper the rough crowd, which started booing him before the question-and-answer session even began, with the blunt warning: “If you want to stay in here, we’re not going to tolerate any demonstrations or booing. So, it’s up to you." But minutes later during the senator’s response to a question on whether Americans would be able to maintain their private insurance under the Democratic health care proposal, a protester who was not selected to...

Sen. [Snip] Cardin said how to pay for the bill has not yet been worked out, a comment that prompted even more derision from the audience. Some shouted, "Taxes!" and others shouted, "Spend, Ben, spend!" David Beckham received a rude welcome from disgruntled Galaxy fans in his return to Los Angeles, confronting one who leapt out of the stands at halftime of Galaxy's friendly against AC Milan. The English star, who missed the first half of the Major League Soccer season while on loan to AC Milan, was booed roundly during introductions, and again on his first several touches of the ball. Barack Obama Booed at the All-Star Game in St. Louis On Tuesday! And, he threw a sissy pitch: It's going to be a rough 4 years. He's only been in office 5 months and he's already getting booed. ...And protested.
-
The more debatable point from the historic moment was the reception the President was afforded by the self-described "best fans in baseball." Though Obama was roundly cheered by the All-Star fans, his live presence still didn't attract the applause that George W. Bush did during a taped announcement by the four previous Presidents before the game and some boos could even be heard among the cheers.
-
We thought St. Louis liked Barack Obama, but the audio tells a different tale. Much different. We're not sure what the unemployment rate is in the city (it is 9.7% nationally), but from the sounds of things, it might be relatively higher in Missouri than in other parts of the USA. What makes this reaction so shocking is that St. Louis was one of the crucial urban centers which Obama carried in 2008 that enabled him to closely contest the state of Missouri against John McCain. Obama won only about five counties in the entire state, but one was St....

Sorry for the vanity. Numerous people have been posting at various sites that they have heard from people at the game that there was a loud chorus of boos for 0bama.
