I thought the same thing. I wondered if someone hacked the site, but it almost doesn't seem over-the-top enough to be a fake. Yes, the writing smacks of a high school publication... Then again, it's a TV station, so who knows who they've got writing copy over there...
Holly Hill is just north, and I mean butts up against it, Daytona Beach. My grandmother used to live at the very north end of DB and Holly Hill was just down the road. I've probably been to the park, but that was so long ago, I'm not sure.

Something like this happened in my town a few weeks after 9/11.
There was a loud explosion in a park area near a residential neighborhood and a man was seen driving off in a pick up truck.
Big media coverage and the guy turned himself into police. Turned out to be a landscaper who had legally obtained some explosives for removing stumps and he was wanting to see what kind of bang it made before he used them on a job.
I don't think this is terrorist related simply for the reason that it was ineffective, and I give the terrorists more credit than that. But if there are terrorist attacks in the U.S. prior to the election, I think Florida is a likely site - maybe Epcot Center. Florida is a swing state with a lot of symbolic value because of the 2000 fiasco, and I think it is high on the terrorist wish list. I think a terrorist attack in Florida could swing the state to Kerry. I think the terrorists would be very pleased by that, would appreciate its symbolic value as a slam to Bush.
