I've noticed over the past few days that Kristol's talked up Kerry quite a bit. Even tonight talking about how Kerry's going to portray himself as sort of this post 9/11 Democrat who's strong on terror and how Clinton's speech wasn't that partisan, ect. One wonders if he might not vote for Kerry. And then Joe Scarborough on MSNBC - if you didn't know he was a Republican you'd think he was an independent who's leaning towards Kerry! He mentioned the Reverend David Alston's speech and said basically that he would feel safe with Kerry as CIC because of the physical courage he showed in Vitenam. I thought these people were supposed to be on our side?!? Kristol I can understand because I've never gotten the impression he much likes Bush (other than his very activist foreign policy). But I thought Scarborough was a Conservative....he didn't sound much like one tonight.
They play conservatives at times but they are truly DC elites, more concerned with their dinner parties, their Georgetown townhomes, and being with the in crowd. The establishment wants Bush out, that's why you see Will, Kristol, etc. pimping for Kerry.
Clinton's speech was the highlight of the convention. Pretty boy will fire 'em up, but Kerry's speech will be nothing but the same boring bullshit he's always spouted.
John Kerry cannot inspire, cannot uplift, cannot hold a theme. He's dull, and unable to connect.
Democrats will leave the convention wishing Bill Clinton was their nominee.
Or another way to look at it, it's a confidence game/scam. We get the enemy to trust us and let their guard down. And we slam them later when they least expect it.
Fair and balanced? Just makes me sick. They talk about how we need to get our message out--what the heck are they doing? I agree.
You must have missed the opening night of the initial salvo of the purported onslaught by the "Democrats."
This freak show makes you worried and pensive? You lost your blanket, didn't you.
Remember, this is the DNC's week to shine. Why look like a bunch of whiners and losers by bashing the Dems during their convention at their convention.
(R)'s will have their time in the sun.
Clinton's (Bill variety) speech was extremely partisan and well delivered. Of course it dealt with very broad generalizations for the most part. For the audience views I saw, there were a lot of delegates sitting on their hands when Hillary paused for reaction.
I've not watched the pundits tonight.
Scarborough has drank the MSNBC koolaide. He's been like this for a while.
The good news is that very few people watch MSNBC and half of their audience is made up masochist conservatives who like to watch the liberal MSNBC just to get angry and torture themselves with agony.
Bush is going to kick Kerry's ass. End of story.
After clinton? It's all downhill from here. GREAT plan, DNC...NOT!
Scarborough and Kristol must be Moderates. Lukewarm and sickening.
That or their on-air spots are more important than the truth.
(R)'s will have their time in the sun.
And the Rats will be on a 24/7 trashfest all through it.
I was very disapointed in Joe, also
What speech was Kristol listening to? The whole point of Clinton's speech was to contrast Democrats against Republicans and proving that Republicans were nothing but self interested fools bent on destroying unity while the Democrats were the truly "inclusive" party bent on "uniting" the nation. That's not partisan? William Kristol should submit himself to electroshock therapy if he can't comprehend a partisan speech when it slaps him across the face!
I have yet to listen to other pundits, but Clinton was far from "nonpartisan", and I suspect it will be the most partisan speech during this dull convention.
Are you kidding? Guiliani, Schwarzenegger, and even McCain will look like super-novas compared to these bums we've seen in Boston.
