Dukakis II: The Photo Kerry Regrets
NewsMax ^ | July 27, 2004 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 07/27/2004 1:03:36 PM PDT by Kaslin

Woke up this morning, I was feeling quite weird Had flies in my beard, my toothpaste was smeared Over my window, they'd written my name Said, so long, we'll see you again Hey, mr. spaceman Won't you please take me along I won't do anything wrong Hey, mr. spaceman Won't you please take me along for a ride
- From the Byrds' "Mr. Spaceman"

What was he thinking? Or was he thinking? Did John Kerry forget how that widely ridiculed photo opportunity in the Army tank deflated the presidential campaign of his mentor Michael Dukakis?

Apparently not. Sen. Kerry continues to face fallout from his widely ridiculed photo opportunity at Cape Canaveral.

He must have thought wearing a baby-blue anti-contamination suit would somehow make him appear tough and less elitist than usual. The New York Post, however, in the lead story "BOSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM," with the secondary headline "Spaceman Kerry's goofy photo flub," today noted he looked instead like the sperm Woody Allen played in "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex but Were Afraid to Ask."

"The GOP effort to pull a 'Dukakis' on Kerry is shifting into

high gear," the Associated Press reported today.

But Kerry seems eager to pull a Dukakis on himself.

Republican chairman Ed Gillespie said, "We just thought it was a great photo."

Look Who's 'Stupid'

Perhaps the senator had to decontaminate himself from the first night of the Democrat convention.

Over at the GOP war room, Minnesota's excellent new U.S. senator, Norm Coleman, noted the presence of a certain anti-American left-wing hatemonger at the Bush-bashing Beantown bash.

"We had Michael Moore in the presidential box, someone who said

Americans are stupid," Coleman pointed out. "Michael Moore sits with President Jimmy Carter in his box. Is that the foreign policy coming out of this convention? Does that demonstrate the party's commitment to make tough decisions?"

Well, at least they've managed so far to hide Dukakis. And his junior-size helmet.

Bottom Line - President Bush is a man's man and, no matter how hard he tries to play the role, John Kerry is and always has been a pampered little prince who has never done a day's real work in his entire life. Being a man isn't about what you're wearing - it's what you are. Kerry better just give up and stop making a fool of himself.

G.W. is old enough to be my father, has two adult daughters only a few years younger than me, and is married to a wonderful woman.

I still cannot resist having a crush on him. LOL It's just refreshing to see a REAL man in D.C.

Actually, the picture is a dress rehearsal of how Kerry would present himself to French President Chirac to ask for his forgiveness. Just another reason not to vote for him.

I gotta admit, after seeing the posts yesterday, I found myself humming the Oompa Loompa song all afternoon. An amazing likeness to Effin....

Absolutely. I think, oddly enough, that's part of the reason why Bush _happens_ to look better in otherwise silly, or odd, outfits: He's comfortable in his own skin; he knows who he is and for what principles he stands. With Kerry, _everything_ is a costume: What would you like me to be, for you to vote for me?

"I half-expected Gene Wilder to appear behind him."

Me too. There is an uncanny resemblance to Gene. Maybe Kerry's people have never seen that movie?

ROFL!!!

I'd love to hear the RNC or conservative media latch onto this. It's a catchy tune. Campaign commercials CAN resonate, the flips flops are evidence. A catchy song, though, that can stick in someone's head forever!

Ground Control to Major Thom...

Don't think so, this guy (Ketchup Boy) never got passed Lt. There are many in my Navy who appreciate that fact. DTOM (Navy slogan, by the way)
