July 30, 2004 -- BOSTON — It was planned with the precision of a military operation — but the drop of 100,000 red, white and blue balloons for John Kerry went so horribly wrong that the convention producer screamed out the F-word over national TV. "Balloons. What's happening, balloons? There's not enough coming down. All balloons. Where the hell — there's nothing falling. What the f- - - are you guys doing up there?" shrieked the producer, Don Mischer.The live feed was carried over CNN, and Internet maven Matt Drudge quickly posted a request for anyone who'd taped the expletive undeleted to send him an audio file — within minutes he had it posted on his site.

Wow. They'd been planning the balloon drop since March! No wonder the poor guy was so frustrated...
I actually feel sorry for him. He's got to feel awful, knowing that the most memorable quote of the night came not from Kerry, but from a guy screaming "What the **** are you guys doing up there???"
OMG. I noticed that. I mentioned it to my husband. I thought maybe they were trying to save money for more John John infomercials.
It wasn't very exciting. A few balloons here, a few there. It matched Kerry's personality perfectly - Void of any excitement.

I knew something was up. My uncle and I were watching FOX News and we were sitting there watching and we both said that the same time "What? No balloon drop?" and both my uncle and I figured that was it, got up and left the room.
LOL.
I don't watch television and I'm not an MP3 junkie, but I've got THIS gem in rotation on my computer!

The guys in my office and me decided to go eat lunch, since on Guam we are 14 hours ahead of Boston, and didn't want to suffer through the KERRY speech. One of our wives called on a cell phone hysterically laughing, she got to hear the entire thing on CNN International. I would have missed it, since I keep the office TV tuned to FOX News. I must admit, the DRUDGE audio (even though abbreviated) was a hoot. Semper Fidelis.
Excellent. Drudge, now the Post. Hopefully this will get some widespread media play to symbolize how inept the Dims are.
Where's the balloon? I thought there was going to be an Earth-shattering balloon!
The republican's should start their convention with a balloon drop....Tell everyone they got them cheap/ used ya know!

There was so much hot air from the speech that the balloons could not descend.
Chris Wallace had mentioned this earlier in the day, citing the failed balloon drop during the 1980 DNC Convention in NY. He said that failed balloon drops serve as an omen. It's funny that it came to fruition tonight.
And that, my friends, is how well sKerry and Co. can plan a military operation. Be very, very sKerred.
