Ooh Rah! What Marines Think of Kerry.... & 'Believe' tour off to a bumpy start

Ooh Rah! What Marines Think of Kerry....

Ok, I was looking at Google news, and saw this story. Here is what a Marine allegedly said about Kerry interrupting his meal at a Wendy's restaurant earlier Friday...

Now, I wonder why the major press didn't cover this angle.. Hmmm.. I mean I did see the Wendy's clip but none showed Marines that I saw, how about you?

From: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/nation/2711258

"A sparse crowd showed up at a morning rally in Boston to begin the 21-state tour. On board were the Kerry family, the Edwards family and an entourage."

"Kerry joined them inside and spied a table of Marines. But when he struck up a conversation, the Marines answered tersely and expressed irritation.

"He imposed on us and I disagree with him coming over here to shake our hands," said one, who did not give his name."

*************

Maybe the Marines should of told Kerry to "Shove It,!!!!"

Who knows, maybe they did...

Sounds like my Marine Corps is in Fine shape... Semper Fi Marines!

Oh, sparse crowd.... Gee, I guess we will see a whole lot of closeups instead of wide shots on this tour.

You see, that's a popular press trick. When you want to pretend there are a lot of people around, you zoom in closely instead of a wide shot, so watch the press shots of Kerry in the coming days and see if they are closeups of him and the stage cronies, or wide shots of the crowd area... It can be quite a fun experiment to see how different press use footage...

Maybe that is why the press ran the inside shots of the Wendy's and then the tops of the buses instead of the sparse sendoff in Boston This Morning.

Regards,
Joe

Here is what they really said, via yahoo (go figure):
Earlier, their bus convoy pulled over at a Wendy's fast food restaurant for a photo opportunity lunch that provided an awkward moment.

Spotting a group of US Marines, Kerry, who has made his Vietnam War service a cornerstone of his campaign, went over to chat. The Marines, who all turned out to be staunch Bush reporters, were not impressed.

"He imposed on us and I disagree with him coming over here shaking our hands," one of them told reporters afterwards. "I'm 100 percent against" Kerry, he said. "We support our commander-in-chief 100 percent."

I hope the surveys keep saying Kerry's ahead...it will keep conservatives from being complacent about voting.

:D

Geee, I wonder why the ABCBSNBCMSNBCNN Crowd didn't show those quotes.....

Now what we need is the video of this and get some t-shirts made-up.

I wonder how many Marines were there. I mean Kerry found what 11 former Military to support him, and then as his bus tour hits the first stop in NY, and wala, 3,4 or 5 of the Marines don't support him... I wonder whoever scouted these Marines will get fired over this. You can look for Kerry to avoid all active duty Marines here on out.

Guess we need only a few more to negate his entire Vietnam four month tour.

BTW - did you know Kerry was awarded three purple hearts? ;)

Regards,
Joe

It is not a good idea to interrupt a Marine while he is eating.

I am not sure it isn't just wishful thinking but that young man looks like a cat ready to pounce on a mouse????
Look at his left hand and the expression on his seatmates face...In a 'happy' situation like that one would think while it is proper for the Marine being addressed to be standing, the one sitting would at least look like someone is enjoying the moment.

Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry , D-Mass., speaks during an interview with the Associated Press at a Wendy's Restaurant in Newburgh, N.Y. Friday, July 30, 2004. John Kerry said Friday he would put Osama bin Laden on trial in U.S. courts rather than an international tribunal to ensure the 'fastest, surest route' to a murder conviction if the terrorist mastermind is captured while he is president. I'm betting he also cranked out an excuse about his run in with the Marines. I wish that Marine had broken dorkyman's pointy finger right off!

Bump!

Note that the Chronicle doesn't mention the Wendy-eating Edwards are multi-millonaires. It would have been pointed out, if this were a GOP ticket.
