Bill Clinton for U.N. Secretary-General?

Bill Clinton for U.N. Secretary-General?

The Annan-Clinton intrigue is all the more interesting because of the speculation that a President Kerry would appoint Bill Clinton as secretary-general of the U.N.

This story is a repeat of reports during the 2000 election that Clinton had a deal with Al Gore that he would appoint Clinton to the coveted global job if Gore won the presidency.

But with Clinton aides and associates holding the purse strings at the DNC and with many of the 527 groups that Kerry will need to finance his last laps until November, Clinton may ask for payback.

Already, Kerry has passed over Hillary as his vice president. He still owes the Clintons.

And Bill is itching to get back into the public eye -- as his book tour attests. The secretary-general's job may fit the Bill

Can he convince the UN that he's black?

It will be too late.

The SHEEPLE will love him. I'm beginning to believe he is the anti-christ.

The perfect storm. The most corrupt institution in world history meets the most corrupt President in American history.

This clown will make the Oil for Food scam seem like a child's lemonade stand.

I don't think that a country that's a permanent member of the security council can hold the secretary general position.

According to the UN Charter, the Secretary-General cannot come from one of the permanent Security Council members (China, Russia, US, France, Britain). Someone is inhaling if they actually believe this rumor.

Only if we move UN Headquarters to Sudan. UN out of the US; US out of the UN!

Exactly! Great excuse! The UN has lied to us in the past, and now a convicted liar is the head of the UN? Sorry, show the US the door!

Of course they would need to change the UN charter. Yet clinton likely salivates day after day regarding the potential graft and the fact that Anon is but a piker in the corruption game.

"what "Annan-Clinton intrigue"?

I must also have missed this. BTW, since when does the U.S. President appoint the SecGen of the UN? I must have missed that too.

So, we now know why he bought the house in Ireland. Would he give up his citizenship. Why not, he gave up his nation on a platter.

Not only that, I still believe he will dump Hillary before 2008. The guy simply cares about no one except himself. If he didn't think of Hillary throughout all his perverted scenarios, he should have at least though about his daughter. He didn't!!

Rules and laws have never stopped Clinton. This is a man who violated the Constitution, which is far more important than the UN Charter.

True. Also, the President of the US does not just 'appoint' the Secretary General anyway.

While I don't doubt for a heartbeat that Clinton would love to be Secretary-General, it's not gonna happen.

Admitedly, I did not not know that. I do believe that with the state of affairs at the UN, certain things could be changed to accomodate certain people

That is correct. The charter would have to be amended. Of course, I am hoping that the UN goes away before this can happen. In President Bush's second term (hopefully!) he should significantly reduce our participtation is this corrupt bureaucracy.

Clinton has been angling for this position for a long time, but the likelihood of it happening is negligible. I can't seen the Third World voting for an American, and they control the process. Also, if memory serves me correctly, there is a rule that no one who is a citizen of a state on the Security Council can be Secretary General.

At least the U.N. wouldn't be run by an agent of a murdering, dictatorial regime.
