ARLINGTON, VA - Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "Together." The new ad highlights President George W. Bush's optimistic vision to keep America moving forward. The ad will run on national cable and in select local markets. Bush-Cheney '04 Chief Strategist Matthew Dowd released a memo to campaign leadership this morning. Today, Bush-Cheney '04 will post John Kerry's convention acceptance speech on its website www.GeorgeWBush.com to showcase the clear choice voters will have in November. President Bush: Voice Over: President Bush. Moving America Forward.
Script for "Together"
I'm George W. Bush and I approve this message.
The last few years have tested America in many ways.
But together, were rising to the challenge.
Standing up against terrorism and working to grow our economy.
What gives us optimism and hope?
Freedom, faith, families, and sacrifice.
So how long till Kerry comes out to complain about the negativity and personal attacks in this ad?
Bush needs to run as many ads as possible pointing out that Kerry has the most liberal voting record in the Senate, even more liberal than Ted Kennedy.
I like this ad - its a lot like one of his earliest adds.
I dont like the "Moving America Forward" slogan.
Not for what it means but there is a right wing 571 called "Move America Forward" and it sounds pretty close.
It also sounds like a take off of MoveOn.org...blech.
This positive stuff is for the mushy middle even when they need hard facts about Kerry...where is the right wing organizations and their attack ads?
where are the "get tough on Kerry" ads?... this is an advertisement for soccer moms.
Whoever it was that said the DNC Convention made images from 9-11 fairgame seems to be right.
agreed.. .this ad for Bush is fluff.. Damn he needs to get tough on them... they have been calling him Hitler for 1 year.
Right after they bitch and moan about the 1/4 second glimpse of a flag at ground zero as "exploiting September 11th"
..and soccer Mom's are who we want.
Effective ad. The President won't go into "attack mode" as some are suggesting til the Convention at the end of this month. After the Convention, the ads detailing Kerry's various votes, flips and flops, and flat out lunacy will be highlighted hundreds of times in the last sixty days of this race.
Right now, Kerry's theme of "I'm not Bush" is becoming counter productive. Its not like thats news.
The new ad is fine -- for now.
1. Let the RATS panic and go negative first. That way, we can unload with tremendous force.
2. We can tell the American people that Prez Bush is presenting his "optimistic, positive vision for the country."
3. It reminds the electorate of the WOT.... laying the groundwork fcr the assault on the Kerry record.
Matthew Dowd used to work for lloyd Bentsen.
Hopefully there own polling is telling them that they don't need to go negative...I hope.
