Actress Sharon Stone says a puritanical streak running through America created by President Bush prevented her from kissing Halle Berry in the newly released film "Catwoman."

Stone, 46, wanted to enjoy a lesbian moment with her co-star, but the current conservative climate in the country just wouldn't allow it, she concluded, according to Ireland Online.

"Halle's so beautiful and I wanted to kiss her. I said, 'How can you have us in the movie and not have us kiss? That's such a waste,'" said Stone.

"That's what you get for having George Bush as president."

The movie has been universally panned. Miami Herald reviewer Connie Ogle said: "Catwoman doesn't belong on the big screen. It belongs in the litter box or to be scraped off the bottom of our shoes as we head quickly for another theater."

Stone was among the Hollywood luminaries in attendance at the Los Angeles premiere of Michael Moore's anti-Bush film "Fahrenheit 9/11."

this is all so absurd - Dubya didn't "create" a "puritanical streak running through America" - he has given some breathing room and a voice in public for those of us who have had enough of the runaway public lasciviousness with which the Left has thorougly polluted public culture.

If Sharon so badly wanted to neck with Halle, I'm sure they could have come to a private arrangement in one or the other's trailer. It didn't need to be public, didn't need to be on screen, and isn't important enough to be classified as printworthy.

of course, on the other hand, it is dubious that the folks who would object to a lesbo smoochfest in "Catwoman" are going to see the movie as it stands now... and perhaps getting perverse on screen might have made the movie slightly more interesting/entertaining... It didn't help "Showgirls" but ya neveh know...

"Catwoman" is based on a comic book character. A smart business decision is to maintain the adolescent genre and
get the rating towards "G" rather than "XXX", to maximize the audience.

(I believe the Keaton "Batman" also realized that element, not to mention alienating the Batman fan base.)

And my worthwhile last point: Hey Sharon! Look at the trouble Jackson caused at the Superbowl. Every knock[er} a
boost? Tell that to the people that have to read all the complaints at the FCC.
