Is Teresa Becoming A Problem?

You tell her! Valuable voter feedback for Kerry's campaign from deep within the comments section of Ruy Teixeira's Donkey Rising:

I attended the Kerry rally in downtown GR MI 8/2. A huge noon time crowd, nearly 10,000, in this very conservative GOP area. The size was beyond everyone's expectations.

The rally was held on a 2 acre+ concrete plaza, on a very hot day with the temp on that surface nearly 100 degrees. We had to wait hours for the festivities to begin because of the security checks prior to entrance.

Finally the Kerry entourage arrived; but before the candidate spoke, up stepped Theresa. Instead of expressing a few words of gratitude to the long suffering crowd and making a short intro speech for her husband, we were treated to a too long, and may I say self indulgent discourse.

There on the stage was our wonderful gov., [Jennifer] Granholm, who was permitted to say nothing. None of the down ticket people were allowed a word either; although in that heat they may not have been welcomed by the crowd.

Theresa took all of the air out of the rally. People started to leave before Sen. Kerry finished. They had to go back to work, find water or start back to home through heavy traffic.

Of course Terazor spoke first and as long as she damn well pleased. It's her time in the light and she's paid for the whole thing! sKerry would not be there at all (senate or candidacy) without her money. I find it funny that the libs have to deal with the fact that, while they paint the Dem party as being for the poor blue collar worker, their 2 candidates make up the wealthiest ticket in American history. And, of all 4 candidates running against each other this year (Prez&VP), Mr Bush has the least personal wealth. Gotta love it...

I find it interesting that the writer says a Nexus search on the Hannity interview with Gen. Franks is wrong and the correct version is what they heard, that Franks agreed with Kerry about Vietnam. When the article says "wouldn't", not "would".

Well sure, it was that darn Teresa that took the air out of the rally and forced people to leave early. People love to hear John Kerry speak....

"Let them eat CAKE."
I understand and sympathize with what you mean here. I hate tuh-ray-za as much as the next person does.

But the story of this quote is actually so interesting that I must point out that it is consistently misused.

In fact, the bread-makers in Paris at the time had a union-like strangle-hold on the price of bread and were driving it up beyond the means of the average person. Cake-baking wasn't similarly regulated/monopolized and the price of cake was thus far less. The words "let them eat cake" didn't mean "why don't the peasants just live like the rich people", it meant: "break the bread-monopoly with an end-run around the union-bakers".

Interesting, hey?

Now back to tuh-ray-za bashing, which I heartily enjoy.

I think she's a deal-breaker for many Americans.

Too weird. Too strange. Too much of a blatant liar.

Thanks for the education! I will use that item in future.

Yes, indeed! Back to the Tuhrayzuh bashing!

And she has too much money to get the Martha Mitchell treatment.

For those who don't remember, Martha was the wife of Nixon's AG. She was a bit of a loose cannon and, after a few wild remarks, was kept out of sight ... but somehow she always managed to get to a phone in the middle of the night and call a reporter...

Interesting! I learn something new every day.

As for Moma T, the folks over at the Site That Must Not Be Named are actually calling for a debate between her and Laura. They actually think Kerry would benefit from greater exposure of this strange and offputting individual.

"Wonderful"??

Gag me with a maggot, ugh!

Any twit that hogs the stage and thus keeps our Canadian socialista governess Sir Jenni Lord Grandstand from saying anything... has performed a public service to the Subjects of the Grate state People's Republik of Michigan.

Let's hear it for TuhRAYzuh! Yeehaw, etc.

Yet, in 2000 all we heard from the media was W's vast wealth.
