Senator McCain,
What is it that you don't like about the Swiftboat Vet's advertisement?
Are you in a position to question ANYTHING those vets have to say about Kerry?
Are you upset that the ad is effective?
Did Kerry promise you a job if he's elected?
If you had been on any of those swiftboats working with Kerry, or in his command, wouldn't you feel qualified to assess his performance?
Do you approve of Kerry's behavior after returning from Vietnam?
Former USAF Sgt. 1971-1974
(46350)
Sincerely,
Laurence J.
Well said, I am stealing a bunch of that.
McCain is a Rhino.
How many people know about him launching that missle while on deck?
SEMPER FI!
Anyone ask him about that little missile thing on the Forrestal?
OH, that is excellent.
Beyond excellent.
Superb.
I wish it could be sent to him.
Rassmann, just said on H&C that he was a Republican for 30 years, but just switched in January...right about the time he started hawking Kerry's story. Who is paying Rassman's bills? He is getting paid by the Kerry campaign and being jetted all over the country, staying in expensive hotels and eating at expensive resturants...and perhaps recieving some political promises....come on!
The Swift Boat Veterans are not affiliated with the Republicans, are not getting paid by the Bush campaign, and have the right and responsibility to tell their side of things.
I did, my point was quite simple. It is Senator McCain who acted dishonorably by casting aspersions on men who served in the Delta with Kerry. I also jabbed him about the First Amendment but I couldn't resist.
and have the right and responsibility to tell their side of things.
That to his proven propensity to be contrarian and unstable, we now add giving aid and comfort to a fake hero and a genuine traitor.
McCain is a Manchurian Chatty Cathy: on Abu Graib he was Ted Kennedy's slobbering lap dog--
McCain's DC office even had a wonk in charge of defending the Senator's obsession with underwear on heads.
Check out the photos of McCain ardently embracing some of the really bad actors from the North--sick, sick puppy.
Some kind of a Peter Sellers-Hieronymus Bosch mutant.
I thought Mc Cain was suppose to be out campaigning for the President. He seems to hinder more than help!! Mc Cain did go through hell in Vietnam but sometimes I think it affected his reasoning.
My local ABC news affiliate is playing the Swift Boat story from McCain's viewpoint: John McCain says this is the same tactic used against him. So, the general public will get that spin, that the ad is a dirty trick and McCain is exposing it. And that's all they'll get.
I'll never forget that film.
Regards,
TS
Sorry, I'm not emailing McCain. I'm not dignifying his comment with a response.
You know, if President Bush decides to, as Rush says, "take the high road" on this by denouncing this ad, he may well walk his "high road" right out of the White House.
These vets had nothing to gain by coming forward with Truth. Don't we, the American Public, have a right to know what they are saying?

Amen to that.
I for one will reconsider my support for him.
You have hit the nail on the head. These guys are honoring each of us by their testimony. They still believe that America is worth it. Even an America that rewards the traitorous acts of one its sailors who supports the other side for his own personal advantage by electing him Senator.
Even an America that spit on them upon their return because of the testimony of that sailor. Even an America who believes the traitor's lies because that is easier than facing the truth that we abandoned millions to die because that was easier than living up to our honor bound commitment. Even an America that will now give them death threats and destroy their business's and their careers because now they have resurfaced to tell the truth about what really happened 35 years ago.
These men are heros and deserve to be honored. The fact that the DNC believes these men need to be destroyed - not just disagreed with - says what this election is truly about.
We just have to be worthy of their sacrifice. This time we must earn it.
Semper Fi,
TS

What do you say, MeekO?
He is a creature of admiration. He will be swayed by anything that he feels makes him more beloved. Crack that and he will be angry. Here's what I sent:
Honorable Senator,
I respect your service and your sacrifice to your country during the Viet Nam war. I also respect that you have personally come to terms with Senator Kerry about his actions protesting the same war.
I am very disappointed that you will not listen to the Swift Boat veterans air their views about Senator Kerry's performance in Viet Nam, after Senator Kerry made it a priority in his White House Campaign. The Swift Boat veterans are very clear in what they say. They are not doing this in support of President Bush. They firmly believe that Senator Kerry is not fit to be CinC of the United States Armed Forces. Since this includes Senator Kerry's entire chain of command and most of his peer boat commanders, it deserves to be aired, for everyone to make an informed decision.
That is, in the end, all we can do. We need more information, not less. If the Swift Boat veterans have something to say, let them say it first. Evaluate it second, and judge it based on the facts at hand.
Many of their claims are not hard to evaluate. Let's take a look, and then laud or boo.
Thank you for this moment of your time.
DK
When he puts his finger to the wind...or was that Monica?
