Well here goes the slope we have all been waiting on. The downward spiral to transgender, sibling lovers, polygomy, and animal relationships.
This is exactly why we have to have an amendment. Although I don't think we should have to do anything.
It should be the opposing view that has to convince us, the man and woman group, that they have to pass an amendment. Why should we have to protect what already is?
It all boils down to tolerance and acceptance. The gays can't tolerate us because we believe marriage is between man and woman. So much for their tolerance. I thought it went both ways.
And acceptance. I am convinced that this recognition is more important than their lover getting benefits.
It's much deeper than that. The homosexuals know they are wrong. The latest psychological buzz is that they must learn to accept themselves, but all of us are inborn with a conscience that tells them they are wrong. They have two choices. Learn to deal with their perversion as perversion, get a grip on it, and eventually "go straight," or convince themselves they really aren't wrong after all.
Unfortunately, the latter is simply not possible. So they become obsessive/compulsive about forcing us to recognize them. Their hope is that if we all go along, that quiet little voice inside will finally shut up.
The only way to prove to them they are wrong would be to give them what they think they want. Paul addresses this in Romans 1. After G-d has tried everything else to show them how wrong they are, He gives them over to their perversion. It sounds like the ultimate punishment, but it is actually the ultimate reality check. Unfortunately, it is a destructive one.
