Listen, he wasn't president on Sept. 11, and I am not questioning his reflexes or reactions, but it is worth noting what Kerry did do on Sept. 11, 2001. Here's what he told Larry King: "...And as I came in [to a meeting in Sen. Daschle's office], Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid were standing there, and we watched the second plane come in to the building. And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table and then we just realized nobody could think, and then boom, right behind us, we saw the cloud of explosion at the Pentagon..."
Kudos to Red State for finding that. And for noting: "It should be noted that the second plane hit the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m., and the plane hit the Pentagon at 9:43 a.m. By Kerry's own words, he and his fellow senators sat there for forty minutes, realizing 'nobody could think.'"

I just heard Kerry say if HE had been President during the time of 9-11, he would have told the school kids he would have been talking to at that time to excuse him, the President had something important to do. He was criticizing Bush.
Well, I guess it would have taken him 40 minutes to think to tell the kids that according to this write up. It was 40 minutes before he could speak.
I'm going to email this to Rush, Sean, Bill and Hugh.

He completely froze up. He would have looked catatonic for 40 minutes, and then asked what his name was--judging from his own words on LKL.
The explosion at the Pentagon was not confirmed on TV until AFTER 10:15 AM, at least. I was 3/4 mile west of the Capitol on Penn. Ave. at work. The explosion was not visable from the 9th floor on Penn Ave - it was NOT visable from the Capitol. There was a rumor on TV that the Pentagon was hit, but was not confirmed until later.
The jerk was lying, or "exagerating."
I have no problem saying I was scared that day.
