Lesbians sue Catholic school for refusing daughter

Eugene, Oregon, Aug. 06 (LifesiteNews.com/CWN) - A lesbian couple has sued a Catholic school and its parish after a daughter was refused admittance.

After describing her irregular domestic arrangement to school principal Dianne Bert last year, Lee Inkmann was told her daughter would not be allowed to attend O'Hara Catholic School, because the lesbian relationship conflicted with Church doctrine, and could be confusing to other pupils. Inkmann and partner Trish Wilson are suing for $550,000 in damages, naming the school principal, as well as Father Mark Bachmeier, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, in their claim.

Portland Archdiocese spokesman Bud Bunce told the Associated Press that the "archdiocese plans a vigorous defense ... it is believed that this situation was handled appropriately. The lawsuit filed includes numerous false statements of fact, and is believed to be totally without merit."

Yet another sterling example of homosexuals attempting to force private organizations to bend to their perverted will.

I hope to God that the courts recognize that a private school bears the right to refuse service to anyone.

Expect the same sort of lawsuits if same sex marriages are legalized and a church refuses to perform a ceremony for such an abomination.

Same with same sex married couples who seek to have church memberships.

I think we should have a constitutional amendment to guarantee the right of freedom of association. The right should not be abridged under any circumstances.

It is far too easy to sue in this country. The legal profession has become an extortion industry that is growing like a cancer.

We need to do something to discourage this sort of thing.

What these smarmy lawyers are doing right now is researching every lease, contract or grant that the church has with any local, state or Federal agency.

Americans seem to have accepted the notion that once we accept one thin dime from government or one any legal privilege from tax-excempt status, then we give up everything guaranteed by the bill of rights.

This is not the way it should be. Our government should not be allowed to purchase our freedom from us.

Homosexuality is unbiblical. It's a Satanic ritual. Why would a school teaching the word of God even consider opening the doors for them? Are they nuts, too?
Let them start their own School of Satan. Then all the homo kids will have a bath house of their own to learn in.

Personally, I wouldn't let the child of a homo near my kids, either. I'd tell them to get lost and to stay away from my children.

What's amazing is that you've got people who honestly believe that homosexuals only want equal rights. These perverts could go to any other school, even public but they decide to go to a Catholic school, probably HOPING to get turned down so they can force their will onto the school.

I sure hope the school wins but I don't have too much hope, given all these activists judges, forcing their liberal garbage onto everyone!

By allowing this ridiculous law suit, the state of Oregon is hindering the freedom of religion. Lawyers who file such law suits should have their license removed and have to pay the school for all their costs due to this fascist action.

Homosexuals want to rewrite the Bible but the courts have to abide by the first amendment by law. Parents have the right to bring up their children in their religious beliefs. The first amendment trumps any "diversity" rights.

Oregon is full of druggies and moonies, though, so who knows what will happen.

The picked on the Catholic Church because:
1. The Catholic Church has deep pockets
2. The Church has a reputation for paying off litigants

... and weegee gets tonight's door prize, with a tip of the hat! Weegee has given us of the two actual reasons we see leftists pushing for gay marriage. The other has to do with gays adopting kids siezed from repressive patriarchal ( = Christian) homes by the ever-ready DFS bureaucrats and "family" (secret) courts. A new source of fresh meat is needed, you see.

Back in the big gay pride parade early in the glorious reign of Lord Hee-Haw or Arkansas, there were quite a few statements and placcards stating that "we want your kids." Still think they were just spouting rhetoric to be offensive?

I feel sorry for the kids involved in this. How humiliating for them. Those lesbians could have put the child in a private non religious school. What's wrong with them making their children subject to ridicule.

I gotta wonder how they went about this. I imagine them opening a phone book to look for a Catholic school, go there, and then proceed to sue.

This poor little girl is the lesbian's sacrificial lamb. These perverts could care less about where she goes to school, they're using her to make a political statement.

Want to bet? Sandra Day O'Connor, writing for the Supreme Court's majority in the Grutter decision last year, ruled that "diversity" was a "compelling state interest" and thus overruled the Constitution's 14th amendment's guarantee of equal protection under the law. The same court basically overruled the 1st amendment last December in the "Campaign Finance Reform" case. It's only a matter of time and more legal precedent.

"The Catholic Church has deep pockets"

Not anymore. The Vatican has been running in the red for years now, donations are way down, and the avericious victims of some pervert priests and their attornies have stripped millions of dollars from the entire Church in America. Hundres of churches are closing their doors, Church buildings are being sold off, and thousands of Catholic charities and missions no longer have the capacity to cope with the needs of the poor. But the lawyers are doing very well these days.
